Chenoweth Yurt, rural & river views
Description
In beautiful Tamar Valley on Cornwall / Devon boarder, this 'off grid' yurt/cabin is in a gently sloping rural meadow overlooking the river and in nature. King sized bed, log burner, outside seating around a fire pit / BBQ and your very own bath / hot tub (heated from a log burner, we provide the first basket of logs free). A modern shared bathroom is located a short walk away and a shared rustic field kitchen with under cover cooking facilities. A compost loo is also available nearer yurts. The space Set in over 40 acres of grounds there is plenty of space to explore including River Tamar frontage with a private shingle tidal beach, woodland, Salt Marsh Nature Reserve and orchard with a tennis court (a selection of rackets and balls are available) if you are feeling active! There is also a games room with table tennis and a selection of board games / jigsaws / books / magazines that you can borrow. The farm is in a rural location and managed for wildlife and the place buzzes with birds, deer, badgers and more. Access to the river where you can wild swim (tide dependant!) or just sit and watch the birds live. Options for walks from your door and further afield (Bodmin Moor, Dartmoor and South Coastal Path are all within 20 - 30 minutes drive away). If you do feel like leaving the farm, there are good pubs and restaurants nearby, beaches, off road cycling paths and plenty of other activities. Internal lighting is solar powered on a rechargeable battery. This also allows the recharging of a phone / tablet as well on all but the cloudiest of days! The Boot room and Games room have plenty of power sockets for charging devices if needed. There is a small honesty shop for fresh eggs from our ducks and chickens and apple juice from our orchard. We also normally have some veg grown sustainably at the farm available and if you're lucky some delicious honey from our hard working bee's. There are a number of bookable experiences and treats here at Lower Marsh Farm including private wild food foraging workshops, stand-up paddle board tuition, afternoon tea, suppers and more. An EV charger is available at the farm (request a tag when booking and you will be charged for the amount of electricity used at the end of your stay). Please note that dogs are not to be left unattended in your yurt at any time. Guest access A modern shared bathroom is conveniently located a short walk away. As is a shared rustic field kitchen with under cover cooking / dining facilities. The bathroom and kitchen are shared with up to two other yurts (which also sleep 2 people each). Other things to note There are steep uneven steps between the bathroom and utility room (where fresh water and washing up facilities are located) and the meadow where the yurt is located. Some lighting is present on the route but you should bring a torch. Access to shared facilities will be subject to social distancing guidelines and access for showers will be on a schedule (if the other yurts are occupied). We can help carry your luggage up to the yurt on arrival and departure if needed. The will be other guests at the farm as there are 3 holiday lets and 2 other yurts. This is a NO SMOKING property either in the yurt or in the grounds. The same applies to vaping.
