Description
A self-contained and secluded ground floor apartment with a contemporary feel and panoramic countryside views providing the perfect bolt hole for exploring Cornwall, and beyond. The apartment comprises the lower ground floor of our family home. It has been furnished to a high specification with new furniture, fixtures and fittings and enjoys private gated access, ample parking and a large level lawned area with picnic table and deck chairs available for guests' use. The space The apartment is situated a short distance from the village of Menheniot, which has a church, well stocked shop, two pubs and a salon as well as recreational facilities to include a football pitch, cricket pitch, play park and tennis courts. The popular Adrenaline Quarry also lies on the outskirts of the village (next to Menheniot train station) offering activities such as an Aquapark, Axe throwing, Karting, Giant Swing and Zip Wire. The apartment is easily reached via the A38 which provides access, via Plymouth/Saltash, to the rest of Cornwall. Local beaches are found circa 6 miles to the south at the villages of Downderry and Seaton and at the picturesque town of Looe, offering narrow streets, boutique shops, restaurants and various boat trips. Other beaches within close proximity include Talland Bay, Portwrinkle and Whitsand Bay, which are popular for paddleboarders, surfers, walkers, fishermen and swimmers. Local attractions include the various National Trust properties situated at Lanhydrock, Cotehele and Antony House, The South West Coastal Path, The Eden Project, Bodmin Jail, Siblyback Lake and Mount Edgcumbe House and County Park. Nearby, Plymouth offers the services and amusements expected from a city as well as attractions such as The Box museum and art gallery, The Lido, The National Marine Aquarium, Dartmoor Zoo, Saltram House (National Trust) and the historic Barbican area with its landmarks and walking trails. The accommodation comprises a self contained lower ground floor apartment offering uninterrupted and panoramic countryside views. The main living/dining area benefits from a fully equipped kitchenette providing everything you should need for a convenient stay, to include an electric oven, hob, fridge/freezer, kettle and toaster. Washing up equipment and tea towels are provided along with some basic condiments, everyday kitchen items and cleaning products, should you need them. Hand soap and sanitiser are available for convenience. The dining table provides seating for up to four people and a limited selection of books and games are available for guest's use along with a bluetooth speaker, binoculars and a torch. French doors lead onto a paved pathway leading to the parking area and a level lawn. The hallway provides a convenient place to drop your keys, hang your coats and bags and store your shoes after a busy day exploring the region. The entrance lobby provides access to all rooms including a modern shower room with WC (hand soap and toilets rolls, for the first couple of days, provided). The bedroom has valley views and accommodates a king sized bed, side tables, chest of drawers and wall mounted clothes rails, if required. Black out curtains have been fitted to facilitate a good night's sleep throughout the year for all those staying. There is a separate cupboard within the bedroom storing other convenient items such as a travel cot, an iron, ironing board, drying rack and vacuum cleaner. A hair dryer and television in the bedroom are also provided. Externally, a picnic table with parasol provides elevated panoramic views over the open countryside. Two deckchairs are also available for guests' use. A generous parking area is situated next to the apartment and is accessible via it's own gated entrance. There is also an external tap available for guests' use in the event you need to wash down any equipment, muddy boots or sandy toes! Guest access Private wooden gated entrance on a country lane leading into a gravelled driveway offering ample parking and a generous turning area. Level access into the apartment via a paved pathway. Self 'check in' available via wall mounted key box. Other things to note Please note, the apartment is self contained with privacy, however it does form part of our main home. We have a young family, two dogs and two cats and livestock is occasionally present in the adjacent fields beyond the fenced gardens, therefore some associated noise should be expected during your stay.
