The Olive Orchard

The house is in the middle of an estate of 4 acres in the village of Ziria,10km from the town of Aigio and 25km from the city of Patras. It is very warm and pleasant, decorated with a simple, minimal, rustic style. It provides an excellent view to the mountain and to the sea, located on a slope full of olive trees, 2km from the sea side.Ideal for sea enthusiasts and mountain lovers.If you are interested in archaeological sites, daily excursions can be organised to Delphi, Olympia and Epidavros. The space In the middle of a beautiful olive orchard, you will find two identical cottages build next to each other. The one tο your left, (watching the property from the front) is the one waiting for you to enjoy. The one two your right, is the one my family may be staying some of the days you are visiting (mainly weekends). If so, our presence is going to be discreet. The house is eco-friendly,with solar water heater, heat insulation facade, aluminum doors and windows, energy saving fireplace, central heating and cooling system, roof insulation. As a result it is cool during summer time and warm in winter. In the farm we grow olive, orange, lemon and many other trees, as well as many different herbs and vines.We would be happy if you could join as in some of the agricultural work that has to be done around the farm, like picking up fresh seasonal salad!! If you are a water sports enthusiast, you can enjoy SUP, windsurf and Kite surf at very close distances !! For mountain lovers, runners and especially trail runners, there are many trails in the area were you can hike or run! For winter sports lovers, access to the ski resort of Kalavryta is easy and relatively fast (aprox 1h). Guest access The ground floor, where the bedrooms, the livingroom,the bathrooms and the kitchen are located. The basement, only in the case you need to use the washing machine. The biggest part of the orchard around the house, except a few restricted areas, like for example a small storage shed where we keep our gardening tools,next the house. Other things to note Visitors will have to provide their VAT number or passport-ID number, if they are of another nationality, upon arrival. It is a requirement of Greek legislation for the declaration of short-term lease by the owners. We would ask you to avoid smoking inside the house. The kitchen works with gas. If you have children, you may want to accompany them outdoors. Extinguish the fireplace when moving away from the estate. Always turn off central heating- cooling when absent. Be sure that you close the main entrance of the estate every time you enter or exit. A very kind lady, Mrs Anna (our cleaning lady), comes every afternnoon in the estate just to feed the dogs or to do some cleaning in the neighboring house. Her presence is extremely discreet.
