My private home of 20+ years is located only 4 miles from downtown Tannersville nestled in exclusive Onteora Park. It's secluded by NYS-protected forest providing ultimate mountain cabin privacy, ample wildlife, mountain views, and hiking trails. There's plenty of outdoor seating and lawns for family activities. Hunter Mt., Kaatterskill Falls, Colgate, and North-South Lakes are all within just miles of the property. I can accommodate special requests so please don't hesitate to contact me! Fenview, my lovely 1884 Catskill Mountain house, has lovely southern mountain views. A long driveway leads to the very private 3-story residence located in a valley on the mountaintop of Tannersville. The property is down the road from the gorgeous Mountain Top Arboretum and All-Souls Stone Church, all located in Onteora Park. An early 20th-century neighborhood in Tannersville with unique Arts and Craft style homes. Weather is usually about 10-20 degrees cooler than NYC and the mountain breezes are generous throughout the house. The house is full of natural light as soon as the sun rises and romantic amber tones at night. If it's a full moon, it's as if a spotlight is cast with plenty of star-gazing. Nights are quiet next to the firepit or on the porch except for the owls and frogs. Inside, the eat-in kitchen is bright, clean, and ready for cooking if one doesn't feel like visiting the fantastic restaurants in town. The living room is comfortable with multiple seating areas, a workspace, 65-inch flat-screen TV, high-speed internet, a fireplace with a wood stove, and French doors that lead to a wrap-around porch overlooking the lawns and forest. A laundry room is located off the kitchen as well as a 1/2 bath. Upstairs are 3 cozy bedrooms. All are light and breezy with comfortable beds and linens. There is a full bath with a bathtub plus amenities. The private driveway can fit 4 vehicles comfortably. Private upper and lower lawns and surrounding pristine forest. Residential home with large deck, gas grill, fire pit, and outdoor eating area. Private interior access to a full eat-in kitchen, living room, private high-speed internet access, dining area, 3 bedrooms, laundry room, and 1-1/2 baths. I'm available to be present for check-in and check-out if requested. If the weather is problematic I may be there for either instruction or preparation. Usually for snowstorms. I'm always available 24/7 during one's stay via cell phone and Facetime. The home is located in the exclusive Onteora Park neighborhood of Tannersville. Surrounded by gorgeous Arts and Crafts style mountain homes, original stone walls, The Mountain Top Arboretum, All-Souls Stone Church, Deer Mountain Inn, and Water Shed protected forests. Only 4 miles to the village of Tannersville and 6-7 to Hunter Mountain. Kaaterskill Falls, Colgate, and North-South Lakes are also within miles of the property. There is plenty of private parking at the house. The village center with great restaurants, shopping, and tourism is 4 miles. For swimming, fishing, or boating Colgate and North-South Lakes are about 5 miles. Skiing and zip-lining at Hunter Mountain is about 7 miles. There is a local taxi cab company that can be reserved if desired. The description and pictures don't do justice to just how special the property truly is. It's so private and lush with nature. It feels like its own little Eco-system tucked in a valley of the mountain top. It's great for kids and dogs. The maintained lawns are suitable for all kinds of sports to fetch with the dog. The kids can explore the private woods or roast s'mores anytime without the worries of traffic, noise level, strangers, or neighbors. My dog JoJo is the master of her own little universe! From maintaining the wildlife (squirrels and chipmunks), to running up and down all the various levels and areas of the property, she is non-stop all day. It's far away from the road so I don't have to worry about her safety but she's also trained to avoid going up the driveway as well. It's such a comfortable stay. It's so easy to stay busy with all the accessible activities nearby or just cozy up and binge-watch TV in the gorgeous living room. The high-speed Internet allows everyone to enjoy downtime without the worries of data and the large coffee table accommodates some great card or board game competitions!! There's a reason I've owned this property for over 20 years. It's simply lovely, comfortable, and in an incredible turn-of-the-century neighborhood.
