Description
Experience living a little more lightly on a property being developed as an off grid, permaculture home The space The space you will stay in is built from stone and earth. It is double volume in height with the sleeping space up on a mezzanine floor. Lots of bottles act as stained glass and big windows allow in the view and glorious morning and afternoon light. Floors and shower walls are mosaiced with upcycled tiles and broken crockery. One wall is a gallery of art collected from friends or my travels. There is a kitchenette for basic use and a weber/brain outdoors, but there are also numerous and good local restaurants within 1km to 6km. A small shopping center can be found within 6km and the fantastic weekly Earth Route farmers market can be visited on Saturday morning. Local mtb trails, fly fishing and hiking are all within easy access as well as a fantastic yoga studio with classes most days. Guest access You will have use of your own unit and a bit of private garden but are welcome to explore the garden and visit the goats and chickens. You will park inside the property fence but it is not undercover. I also live on the property but will give you a gate key for free access. Other things to note I live with 2 large and friendly dogs, a shy cat, a hive of bees(at the bottom of the property) a number of chickens and 2 Saanen milch goats. You are welcome to bring your pets if they are cat, garden, goatĺ and chicken friendly . Roo and Nandos the roosters do welcome the morning sun so be warned that sleep ins may be commented upon. I overlook the R103 and there is a bit of traffic noise at times as well as the occasional train, but hopefully you will also hear the local crowned cranes passing over or the resident flock of hleka bafezi cuckoos. Water is heated by donkey boiler so there may be a small delay in the morning supply of hot water. The solar system is limited so no heavy duty electric cknsumers like hairdryers etc.can be used. Winters are chilly with subzero temperatures at night so bring suitable clothes. There is a fireplace and extra blankets are available. No wifi but decent to good cell phone signal.
