Small kitchenette and ¾ bath with shower off of a living/lounging area. Also downstairs is a table for 8 and a game table and couch. Covered porch with BBQ off living area. Also open patio facing the lake off front east facing side of the cabin. Windows 360 degrees of the cabin to experience lake and green meadows all around. Furnished in Adirondack style furniture. Guests will enjoy long walks exploring mountains, fields, rivers, ponds and hidden dunes. Look carefully and you might glimpse 'our' Essex Bald Eagle as well as many other birds and wildlife unique to the area. Not to mention the magnificent lake itself. There are multiple places (beaches and parks) that provide easy access to water in this area; for direct access to the large dock connected to this property please message the host after arrival for permission. You will be on your honor to stay within the reasonable limits of the cabin location. The farm is a working farm and for your safety and the workers you are limited to the area proximal to the cabin. The cabin has a upstairs deck, covered porch on the first floor and open large patio on the east side in full view of the lake. Green grass and fruit trees are seen from all sides. The cabin and farm are walking distance to charming historic hamlet of Essex. Check out The Essex Inn, Chez Lin, The Old Dock, and The Pink Pig for dining or quick meals. Ice cream and treats are available at The Essex Ice Cream Cafe. A beer, glass of wine, or hard cider can be enjoyed at The Barn Door Tavern at the center of town. Also in town are the lovely wares from exclusively women-owned businesses from all over the world at THE PINK PIG. Jewelry, art, clothing, and furniture is there. Close by is clothing made on site at Artists and Revolutionaries by NY fashion designer Jon Michael. Fabulous drift wood horse heads and angel sculptures and painting are found at Smiles Art Gallery in the same complex of shops right by the Ferry landing. You can shop for farm foods and local food products such as meat, eggs and milk products, vegetables, and breads at Th Hub just a mile up route 22 from the Essex Ferry. The Essex Ferry leaves from the center of town on the ½ hour starting at 7:30 am. Check the Ferry schedule for accurate and complete schedule. The Ferry takes you to Vermont for visiting Burlington and Shelburne. In Essex, NY off route 22, local artisans display their wares and classes and events are scheduled at Whitcomb’s garage and the Grange where you can find potters and black smith artisans and the famous Kit & Syl shop selling goods exclusively from local makers. Soon to come is the Peony Farm up route 22 about 5 miles which will sell peony flowers, vintage cars, vintage musical instruments and world class coffee. Don’t be shy. Check it all out! Parking is due south of the cabin in a flattened dirt area between grassy expanse. Park there and walk about 500 feet north on the pebble lane to the cabin. The house is set on an active working farm. Therefore - all caution is advised against entering where heavy farm machinery and animals (livestocks, horses, sheep...) are present.
