The space 🏡 The Space Rose Cottage is a Grade II listed character home where historic charm meets modern comfort. • Living areas: Spacious sitting room with large sofa and two fireside armchairs. Separate dining room with reclaimed wood table for 8, adjoining a newly refurbished kitchen with family‑size dishwasher, American‑style fridge freezer (with wine drawer), and all the essentials for cooking. • Boot room & utility: Perfect for muddy boots or drying off dogs, with double doors to a sunny private courtyard. Utility room with washing machine, butler sink, spare freezer, and downstairs loo. • Garden: From the courtyard, 14 steps lead to a secure, two‑tier garden with lawn, patio seating for 6, and a wrought‑iron daybed — a sun trap with views over Newland Valley. Expect sheep and deer as neighbours. Lockable shed for bikes and outdoor gear. • Bedrooms: Three spacious doubles upstairs, all with king‑size beds. Master with wardrobes and dressing table; front guest room with valley views; rear flexible room with sloping ceilings and twin beds (or king). • Bathroom: Bespoke design with walk‑in shower and roll‑top bath. Towels, bed linen, and a starter pack (tea, coffee, milk, cleaning supplies) provided. 🚪 Guest Access Guests have full access to the cottage, garden, boot room, utility, and secure shed. Parking for two cars is available on the private driveway. On road parking for more cars. 🌲 The Local Area Set in the heart of the Forest of Dean, Rose Cottage is surrounded by endless opportunities for adventure. From the door, you’ll find unlimited dog walks and scenic trails, while within 15 minutes’ drive you can enjoy woodland walks, cycling routes, and the stunning River Wye and Wye Valley. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the nearby mountain biking trails and the popular family cycle trail, perfect for all ages. Golfers are well catered for too, with three courses within 20 minutes. For days out, the historic towns of Monmouth, Chepstow, and Ross‑on‑Wye are all close by, offering independent shops, welcoming pubs, and cultural landmarks. Whether you’re after adrenaline‑filled adventures or gentle countryside strolls, the area has something for everyone 🐾 Other Things to Note • Rose Cottage is proudly dog‑friendly: tiled floors, boot room, dog towels, throws, bowls, spare leads, and even a freezer for dog food. A one‑off £20 cleaning charge applies, no matter how many dogs join you. • As a historic cottage, some doorways and ceilings are low, adding to its character. • The garden is accessed via steps, so may not be suitable for all guests. Guest access You’ll have the whole cottage and its garden to yourself for the stay. Other things to note We welcome multiple dogs at the cottage - if you are bringing a gang please just check with us first so we can sure there will be enough room for them to be comfy during their stay. If you are not a doggy family, then please rest assured the cottage is equally welcoming - and feel free to browse our reviews from those who came without dogs and agreed how clean the cottage is. We provide an initial supply of logs, kindling and fire lighters for your first evening or two; more supplies can be purchased locally, details of where to buy are provided in the cottage welcome folder. Although a travel cot is available at the property please note we do not provide any bedding for it.
