Description
This remote cottage on the Blorenge mountain is the perfect getaway, surrounded by woodland & meadows, with nature all around providing beautiful scenic views. If you're looking for an isolated spot to reconnect with yourself & nature, Craig Yr Hafod is for you. The property is up a steep, winding and bumpy road (with the last bit as a grassy track). We have hosted 100’s of guests in many different vehicles over the years but it is impritant that guests are aware that the track is challenging The space The surroundings of this 18th century cottage are truly breath taking. Set in its own valley, there are no other houses in sight. Its ideal if you want to explore the Brecon Beacons. The cottage itself is rustic and cosy, perfect for those looking for a rural getaway away from technology. The house is heated by an air source heat pump, as well as an open fire, a log burner. The open kitchen and large dining table make a great space to get together with friends & family. The kitchen is well stocked with Le Crueset pans & anything you may need to get stuck into some serious cooking. With 3 double beds and a bunk bed, the house sleeps 8. It's a small cottage, so whilst fun to stay in with 8 people, it also works well for couples on a romantic getaway. Please be aware that there is no WiFi or TV connection. We do however have loads of DVD’s if you want to cosy up for a movie night. There is also good mobile 4 and 5G signal which we have found you can use to make video calls or stream. Guest access Guests have complete peace and seclusion within 23 acres of an entirely private valley. The house has 4 bedrooms, a bathroom and a shower room, a large living room kitchen and small snug. Other things to note The cottage is very remote. Whilst it only takes 10 minutes to drive from Abergavenny it is important guests are aware that the road is steep and pot-holed. It is drivable in any car but I wouldn’t recommend doing it any anything too low or that you are too precious about. I wouldn’t recommend the property if you aren’t driving as getting taxis up the mountain can be a challenge although people have stayed without a car in the past so it is possible.
