Quiet, King Bed, Kendal
Quiet, King Bed, Kendal
Description
If you're looking for birdsong rather than traffic noise after a day in the Lakes, you'll probably feel at home here. Many guests comment on how quiet it is. This is a peaceful adults-only king room on a quiet residential street, shared with Georgia, my much-loved black Labrador. This is a lived-in home with soft light, creaky floors, birdsong and a gentle rhythm. Guests describe it as peaceful, calm and somewhere they genuinely relax. You'll be warmly welcomed here. The space This is my full-time home, shared with Georgia, my elderly Labrador. It sits on a quiet residential street and has a calm, unhurried atmosphere that many guests comment on. This is a traditional Airbnb house share. You'll have your own private room and access to clearly defined shared spaces. The kitchen is available between 6am and 8pm for light use. Guests who enjoy peace, respect, nature and a slower pace tend to feel most at home here. Guest access This is an upside-down house – the guest bedrooms and bathroom are downstairs. During the warmer months you're welcome to enjoy the back garden where many guests like to sit with a coffee and listen to the birds. You’re very welcome to use the kitchen between 6am and 8pm for light use. Please bring your own food. Cooking oil, salt, and pepper are provided. There is no access to my private sitting room. If stairs might be a challenge, please feel free to ask – I’m very happy to advise. During your stay I welcome every guest personally. After hosting hundreds of people over the years, I've found that a short conversation on arrival often helps people get more from their stay – whether that's a favourite café, somewhere special for dinner, the easiest way to get around, or a walk that's right for you. This is my home, and I live here full-time with Georgia. I'll happily answer questions and share local recommendations, but I'll also respect your privacy. Most guests enjoy knowing help is available while still having plenty of space to enjoy their stay. Other things to note This is an adults-only house share and a peaceful home rather than a hotel. Quiet hours are from 10pm to 6am, and guests are asked to be considerate of one another. The kitchen is available between 6am and 8pm for preparing simple meals. Tea and coffee is provided. Georgia, my elderly black Labrador, shares the house. She's gentle, friendly and spends much of her day asleep, but if you have a dog allergy this may not be the right place for you. The house is around a 15–20 minute walk from Kendal town centre, and many guests enjoy leaving the car behind to explore on foot. If you're planning walks, meals out or days exploring the Lake District, I'm always happy to share local suggestions.
