I am retired. My husband works from home, in our basement. When our guests are using the loft sitting room, we typically use the basement or the sitting area in our bedroom to give them more privacy. Our adult son lives in the basement; he occasionally uses the main floor kitchen or laundry room, but pretty much stays downstairs. We also own a house in Mexico and spend a few winter months near the beach! During the months we are gone, the main floor is unoccupied; guests may still occasionally share it with our son.
