Description

The Drying Shed provides unique glamping hut style accommodation in a beautiful rural setting with fantastic views and a tranquil atmosphere. Situated amongst a small woodland coppice on a south facing slope, the former lavender drying shed has been thoughtfully renovated to provide everything you could need for a wilderness boost and urban life detox. Wake up to the peaceful sound of the British countryside, fresh stovetop coffee and a book or newspaper and forget about the world. The space Set amidst beautiful rolling Shropshire countryside, the building was formerly used as a lavender drying shed on the edge of a pick your own lavender farm run by my grandmother, but has now been converted to provide glamping hut accommodation. Built approximately 35 years ago, the Drying Shed has been sympathetically renovated to retain its original character including original lavender drying racks and bell tower, concrete slab floor, and timber frame. There is no TV or Wifi (unless you access via 4G) which makes way for good old fashioned radio, board games and books. The Drying Shed lets you immerse yourself in whatever season it may be; light the wood burning stove if it’s cold, or open the doors if it’s hot; take a picnic rug under the trees or sit in the sun and admire the view. The Drying Shed is the ideal place for relaxing and recharging the batteries. In summary the Drying Shed includes: • Open plan kitchen-living area with a king bed looking out over the large south facing window, table and chairs for two, basic indoor cooking facilities; • Wood burning stove and seating in the living area; • Outdoor seating, BBQ facilities, woodland and garden area; and • Separate shower and toilet unit (25m away from main building in the woodland); Note, whilst we try our best to ensure that all dust and cobwebs are removed before every stay, the Drying Shed was a working building and due to it's timber construction, it's sometimes impossible to get every tiny cobweb. Well behaved pets may be accommodated on request subject to the livestock in nearby fields and a lot of our guests use this as a walking getaway break with their canine friends. Guest access The Drying Shed is surrounded by a private woodland with seating area overlooking the beautiful views across Astley Abbotts. Outdoor garden furniture is provided which is ideal for al-fresco dining. Generally, unless walking or cycling direct form the Drying Shed, you will need a car for getting around. There is parking for one large or two small cars. The Drying shed is accessed through a secure key lockbox and we don’t generally meet guests. Other things to note Our pricing is designed to cover everything except the cleaning fee, so there are no extras for towels, linen or electricity etc. One basket of dried logs is provided and more can be purchased in Bridgnorth. Well behaved pets may be accommodated on request subject to the livestock in nearby fields. A cleaning fee of £30 will be added to the total nightly booking fee.
