The Loft is a three bedroom apartment renovated from the barn's original hayloft, with hand-detailed, reclaimed decor and a stunning view of our farm/orchard. After receiving such great feedback from guests staying at The Yurt, we decided to open The Cider Loft for short-term stays! Cider Loft guests have private access to the three bedroom, two bathroom, full kitchen loft above the Cider House tasting room. Enjoy clean, minimalist design and decor with reclaimed, custom wood detail from wood harvested on the farm and original barn. The Loft offers a stunning view of the orchard and farm along with a bit of Cayuga Lake from the kitchen window. Firewood is provided along with access to our property's firepits and fire cauldrons! The Cider House offers a year-round farm kitchen.... the quintessential farm-to-table eating experience with organic ingredients grown on our farm or within 30 miles regionally. The farm offers a number of u-pick crops throughout the seasons, including: strawberries, peppers, tomatoes, apples, peaches, pears, and wildflowers! The Loft has a full kitchen with cookware, dishes, basic seasonings, olive oil, complimentary local coffee beans, a coffee grinder, french press, microwave, toaster oven, and a complimentary, chilled bottle of cider waiting for you in the fridge! High speed WIFI is available, along with a Samsung smart TV. There is some muffled noise transfer from the tasting room during hours of operation, 11am- 5pm (standard wine trail hours) during the week; extended weekend hours (9pm Friday with live music; 8pm Saturday) during peak season, Memorial Day - October. If you’re not familiar with a French press... Colleen’s tips for THE best French press brew: Add two or so inches of coffee grounds to the press. Allow water to come off a boil for thirty seconds. Pour just enough water to wet the grounds. Let rest for sixty seconds until grounds “bloom.” These steps release the oils and CO2 and prevent bitterness. Break the crust of the bloom and pour remaining hot water in a circular motion over the grounds until desired level of concentration. Let sit four- twelve minutes for preferred strength of brew then press the plunger down. And voi-la! Chill what’s left right in the press for extra dark ice coffee later on! Guests enjoy a private exterior staircase leading to private entrance with custom keypad lock code. They have full, private access to The Loft itself and shared access to all the Cider House amenities, including the deck over the back lawn and fire pits (with firewood and kindling provided). Hosts are within proximity of the site. The Cider House Crew is available for support during hours of operation. As a host, I provide all info needed through the site and aim to match your communication style as far as frequency of outreach— some guests want total privacy, others appreciate more interactive communication. Personal transportation is recommended. We have a monitored fire alarm system that is wired directly to the fire department.
