The house has several rooms. The owners of the house live in the house. The house was built in 2000. It has double rooms (135 cm bed for 2 people). The house is located in the municipality of Mendexa (Bizkaia), 2 km from the beach and Lekeitio, between Bilbao, San Sebastián and Vitoria, 1 hour from the airport and a few kilometers from the Urdaibai reserve. The house is close to both the beach and the mountains, so you can fully enjoy nature. From our house, you can take coastal and inland routes: . To the west, we can take the Bizkaia coast route. To the east, we can take the Gipuzkoan coast route and reach the south of France. To the south, we can take the Bizkaia interior and Gipuzkoa interior routes. La casa se encuentra en una zona rural, enclavada entre verdes colinas y el azul del Cantábrico Lugar idóneo para sentir la naturaleza cerca de Lekeitio, paseando a la orilla del rio Lea, atravesando la marisma, subiendo al monte Lumentza, a la atalaya, al monte Otoio y cuando la marea está baja, acceder a la isla de San Nicolas o Garraitz, situada enfrente de la playa, contemplando las magnificas vistas, que nos ofrece este risco calcáreo, lugares idóneos, para disfrutar de amaneceres y puestas de sol inolvidables, también podemos ir al faro de Santa Katalina, el único visitable, en Euskadi. A 1 km de la casa está el parque multiaventura, en el cual podemos elegir entre varios circuitos, con diferentes retos y tirolinas, a 2 km podemos practicar deportes acuáticos como surf, vela, canoa, buceo, SUP. La casa está situada en una pequeña atalaya, en el municipio rural Bizkaiano de Mendexa, en la costa cantábrica. Municipio de Mendexa Mendexa es un municipio situado en una colina, rodeado de mar y montes ofreciendo al paseante la tradicional arquitectura de los caseríos además de una preciosa vista de la costa. Si descendemos al nivel del mar, en la marisma, podemos visitar el molino de Marierrota que se ubica dentro de un ecosistema protegido y declarado Lugar de Interés Comunitario. La playa de Mendexa se llama Karraspio y está situada enfrente de la isla de San Nicolás o Garraitz, risco calcáreo al que se puede acceder con la bajamar, a través de la arena o sobre el malecón y disfrutar desde la cima de unas bonitas vistas de Lekeitio y las playas de Karraspio (Mendexa) y de Isuntza (Lekeitio). El rio Lea, separa los municipios de Lekeitio y Mendexa Municipio de Lekeitio: La villa de Lekeitio , (está a 2 km de nuestra casa), es una localidad pesquera que se encuentra ubicada entre Bilbao y San Sebastián, a 1 hora en coche de ambas y del aeropuerto. En el Siglo XIX, varios aristócratas visitaron el municipio, entre ellos, la reina Isabel II y la emperatriz austro-húngara Zita. Lekeitio es un lugar idóneo para pasear por el puerto y por sus estrechas calles adoquinadas del casco antiguo o dar un paseo hasta el faro de Santa Katalina, es el único faro visitable del País Vasco. Entre sus edificios destacan los siguientes: Basílica de la Asunción de Santa María: data del S. XV, es una construcción gótica tardía. En el interior encontramos un excelente retablo Gótico-Flamenco, tercer retablo gótico esculpido de mayor tamaño de toda la Península. La iglesia del convento de Santo Domingo (1535). El Palacio Uriarte del S. XVII. Ayuntamiento del S. XVIII. Torre Turpin del S. XVI. y el Palacio Abaroa: de estilo neobarroco de finales del S. XIX. Fiestas San Pedros: Se celebran entre el 29 de junio y el 1 de julio San Antolines: Se celebran entre los días 1 y 8 de septiembre. Destaca por su antigüedad y curiosidad la Fiesta de los Gansos, que se celebra normalmente el día 5 de septiembre. Desde Lekeitio, podemos realizar diferentes rutas para visitar interesantes lugares Hacia el Oeste, podríamos realizar la ruta de la costa Bizkaina e incluso llegar a Cantabria. Saliendo hacia Gernika, encontramos localidades como Ispaster, con su bonita cala Ogella, a unos pocos kilometros de Lekeitio, comienza la Reserva de la Biosfera de Urdaibai , Siguiendo la ruta nos encontramos Ea, un pequeño pueblito, con su ria, sus puentecitos y su diminuta playa y puerto. El siguiente municipio es Elantxobe, construido sobre los acantilados, a continuación, Ibarrangelua, donde se encuentra la playa de Laga y en plena desembocadura de la ria de Mundaka está la playa de Laida Continuando con la ruta llegamos a Gernika, municipio en el cual podemos visitar, la casa de Juntas, el Árbol de Gernika, el Museo de la Paz y donde cada lunes se celebra el mercado, una tradición que se celebra cada semana desde hace más de 650 años. Continuando con la ruta pasaríamos por Mundaka, Bermeo llegaríamos a la peninsula de San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, pasaríamos por Bakio, Gorliz, Plentzia, Sopelana, Getxo, Portugalete y finalizamos la ruta en Bilbao. Por la costa Este, tenemos la costa Gipuzkoana, podemos visitar Ondarroa, Mutriku, Deba, Zumaia, Getaria, ZarauTz, Orio y San Sebastian e incluso llegar hasta el sur de Francia. Hacia el interior de la comarca podemos visitar pequeños pueblos con encanto como Amoroto, Gizaburuaga, Aulesti o Munitibar. De Munitibar en sentido hacia Markina tenemos la oportunidad de visitar la colegiata de Zenarruza (Bolibar), antiquísima abadía que data del S. XI e importante enclave de la primitiva ruta jacobea de la costa. En el mismo municipio está el museo Simón Bolivar, el cual alberga colecciones que informan de la vida de los bizkainos de la Edad Media y de la trayectoria personal y política de Simón Bolivar, el “libertador” de varias naciones de América. Se inauguró el 24 de julio de 1983, coincidiendo con el bicentenario del nacimiento de Simón Bolívar, se encuentra en Ziortza-Bolibar, antes La puebla de Bolibar (Markina- Xemein), lugar de los antepasados de Bolívar, en el caserío denominado Errementarikua, junto a la calzada jacobea. Municipality of Mendexa Mendexa is a municipality situated on a hill, surrounded by sea and mountains, offering visitors the traditional architecture of the farmhouses as well as a beautiful view of the coast. If we go down to sea level, in the marsh, we can visit the Marierrota mill, which is located within a protected ecosystem and declared a Site of Community Interest. Mendexa's beach is called Karraspio and is situated opposite the island of San Nicolás or Garraitz, a limestone cliff that can be reached at low tide, either through the sand or over the breakwater, and from the top you can enjoy beautiful views of Lekeitio and the beaches of Karraspio (Mendexa) and Isuntza (Lekeitio). The Lea river separates the municipalities of Lekeitio and Mendexa. Municipality of Lekeitio The town of Lekeitio (it's 2 km from our house) is a fishing village located between Bilbao and San Sebastián, about an hour's drive from both cities and the airport. In the 19th century, several aristocrats visited the municipality, including Queen Isabel II and the Austro-Hungarian Empress Zita. Lekeitio is a perfect place to stroll along the harbor and its narrow cobbled streets in the old town or take a walk to the Santa Catalina lighthouse, the only lighthouse in the Basque Country that you can visit. Among its notable buildings are: Basilica of the Assumption of Santa María: dating from the 15th century, it is a late Gothic construction. Inside, we find an excellent Gothic-Flamenco altarpiece, the third largest Gothic carved altarpiece in the entire Peninsula. The church of the Santo Domingo convent (1535). The Uriarte Palace from the 17th century. The Town Hall from the 18th century. Turpin Tower from the 16th century. And the Abaroa Palace: in late Neo-Baroque style from the 19th century. Continuing along the route, we would pass through Mundaka, Bermeo, reach the San Juan de Gaztelugatxe peninsula, pass through Bakio, Gorliz, Plentzia, Sopelana, Getxo, Portugalete, and finish the route in Bilbao. It opened on July 24, 1983, coinciding with the bicentennial of Simón Bolivar's birth, and is located in Ziortza-Bolibar, formerly La Puebla de Bolibar (Markina-Xemein), the place of Bolívar's ancestors, in the farmhouse called Errementarikua, next to the Camino de Santiago path.
