Sugar, coffee mate , and local Sweet Sombra Honey are provided. The bunkie is fully insulated and includes a heater and mini fireplace to provide the ultimate cozy fall and winter experience, fans are provided during the spring and summer months as well as an air conditioning unit for your comfort. The upper loft of the Bunkie consists of a double sized bed with an amazing view of the lake. The space comes outfitted with linens and an assortment of coffees and teas. All pots, pans, cutlery, cups and plates and miscellaneous cooking accessories are provided. The fire pit is located along the pathway from the Bunkie down to the beach. Enjoy fires in the evening with complimentary firewood. Once you pass the fire pit, the lookout isn’t far. This is a beautiful spot to have a glass of wine while enjoying the beautiful Lake Huron sunsets. As you continue your walk down in the path from the Bunkie, past the fire pit and lookout, you will come across an assortment of water craft for your enjoyment. This consists of three smaller kayaks and a paddleboard. Life jackets are in the deck box. The final stretch down the path gets you to our private beach. Enjoy beautiful Lake Huron water that tends to be significantly warmer in our area compared to the rest of lake. The water is shallow with some rocks, and the beaches are sandy in spots, great for swimming, fishing, or enjoying the watercraft. *Please note aluminum boat is not for guest use. The path to the Lake is steep at times and the footing can be loose, we suggest proper footwear and caution when walking down to explore to beach. Water shoes are helpful as the beach changes frequently and sometimes it’s more rocky than sandy. This area is well known for fishing as well as bird watching. Keep your eyes peeled for our local Eagle family, swans, migrating geese, monarchs, as well a lots of other wildlife. Because we are nestled right in nature on the lakefront, you will also encounter our smaller local residents, like flies, mosquitoes, and spiders. They are a natural part of our beautiful ecosystem, so we recommend bringing your favorite bug spray during the warmer months. When the water is too cold or rough, no problem! Enjoy our relaxing hot tub and sauna, available year-round! Please note, the pool is not heated between the months of December-April (with the exception of Christmas break), but many guests love the invigorating contrast of dipping into the cool pool after a warm sauna session—a refreshing Nordic-inspired experience! This area is shared with our family and friends, feel free to message us to book your time or just use it when we are not. Please note that our property is still undergoing renovations and landscaping. We try our best to not let these activities affect the quality of your stay. We thank you for considering the Blue Coast Bunkie for your next getaway! Guest access Our home is located at the end of the road. Please park on the 2nd driveway, located in front of the attached garage. Follow the pathway along the left side of the house to the Bunkie. The bathroom and kitchenette are a few steps from the Bunkie through the sliding door on the back deck of the house. A welcome message with instructions for keys will be sent within 24 hours prior to your arrival. We suggest bringing a flashlight to navigate your way down to the water and around the bunkie after sunset. Other things to note Enjoy our relaxing hot tub and sauna, available year-round! Please note, the pool is not heated between the months of December-April (with the exception of Christmas break), but many guests love the invigorating contrast of dipping into the cool pool after a warm sauna session—a refreshing Nordic-inspired experience! Please also note we have a Red Retriever named Ranger. He’s a little sweetie, but will likely jump up to say hello if you approach him while he’s tied up. There are outdoor cat named Joey around as well. Please do not allow him in the bunkie, as much as he would love it.
