Get away from it all and stay under the stars. Mystic Pines is 4.5 acres of super cute, off-grid living in the gateway to the Catskills, 5 minutes from hip town Mountaindale (restaurants, bars, market, wine), just on the edge of the Shawangunk ridge. This adorable tiny cabin is 144 sq ft of beautifully designed and handcrafted space with wall to wall wooden shiplap that gives you that cozy cabin feel. Set back off the road for maximum privacy. The space Please note that this is a remote, woodsy area that gets very dark at night. If you have not camped before or do not enjoy camping, this might not be the spot for you. The wood stove is your only source of heat, please do not book if you have not used a wood fire place before. ——————————————- INSIDE THE CABIN Queen size bed, beautiful linens, down pillows, a wood stove, electric heater, off-grid water system inside with foot pump faucet and small sink for basic dish washing. NOTE: NO WIFI for that true off-grid experience but the cell signal with At&t, T-Mobile and Verizon is good. Kitchen has an Artic cooler (bring ice) to keep your milk, cheese and drinks cold (bring an additional cooler for more food storage), one burner camp stove for basic cooking and for boiling water for coffee, tea, etc. There is a foot pump sink with 5 gallons of water (the water is not heated). PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN DRINKING WATER. All basic kitchen utensils supplied. One pot and pan, spatulas, wooden spoons, utensils, etc. The cabin also has soft lighting. Plenty of good books to read while enjoying an indoor day around the fire. OUTSIDE Sit around the firepit while listening to our creek flow by. Large table for eating, a porch with two Adirondack chairs for morning coffee and meditation. Small outdoor kitchen area for warm weather use. The property is surrounded by over 100 acres of woodlands so this is a very in the woods vibe. You will hear wild animals like the barred owl across the creek that starts to hoot at sundown. This is the Catskills. There are bears, coyotes, snakes, chipmunks, and lots of other wildlife. Please do not leave food or garbage outside. Use basic common sense when it comes to food storage and animal safety. BATHROOM We have an outhouse with composting toilet (not a flush toilet), and an off-grid shower. The shower has a propane hot water heater. 2 towels will be provided. Please note that the shower and outdoor sink are shut down during cold winter months (approximately November to May 15th, our last frost date). Other things to note Please be conscious and respectful of our neighbors. Quiet hours are after 10pm. NO WIFI. NO PARTIES. NO DOGS. ONLY TWO GUESTS ALLOWED, NO OUTSIDE GUESTS PERMITTED. If you are freaked out by bugs and wild animals or generally are not the outdoorsy type this might not be the right situation for you.
