Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway in the quiet mountains of Vermont, off the beaten path yet near Jay Peak and Smuggler's Notch, within 45 minutes of Stowe (1 hour in the winter) and 45 minutes of Burlington. This bespoke, 2000+ sq ft luxury cabin, hand-built by local artisans, includes a brand-new hot tub and deck, a loft, a beautiful dining nook, and 28 acres of private land with trails on premises. The space Spacious, open house with log walls. Main upstairs bedroom with attached full bathroom, two downstairs bedrooms (one with a full bed, and one with two twin beds), and a second full bathroom downstairs. All three bedrooms include walk-in closets with hangers. Extra large couch downstairs; can be used for sleeping. Air mattress available for extra sleeping arrangements as well. Please note that the TV in the living room is an Amazon Fire TV; it does not receive cable but can access streaming services. Upstairs loft contains gaming table, games, and yoga mats available for guest use. For working spaces, there is a desk in the main bedroom and another in the loft (in addition to the gaming table). Full kitchen with dishwasher, oven, microwave, refrigerator, Keurig, and dishes / cookware available for guest use and ample cabinet space. Items such as a pizza cutter, colander, measuring cups, baking sheets, and a rice cooker make it easy to prepare all kinds of cuisines. The house also includes a laundry room with dryer. The back door opens directly onto the deck, which is connected to the hot tub. The front of the house includes a porch with two Adirondack chairs. The property includes 2+ acres of open space surrounding the cabin and a total of 28 acres, with private, marked trails through the wooded area. Guest access Guests will have the entire house and 28-acre property to themselves. There is space to park 3 cars. Other things to note Please note that the air conditioning is a standalone unit in the upstairs bedroom and the rest of the cabin is not air conditioned. In the summer the best way to keep cool is to open windows on opposite sides of the house to get a cross breeze. This is a 100% log / wooden house in the mountains, and fall is ladybug season in the area. The house will be cleaned the same day prior to guests' arrival and has been recently re-sealed, but the ladybugs may still manage to get in, and some may be on the floor despite our best efforts. However, they are not harmful to people or dogs, just a nuisance. There is a hand vacuum and a robot vacuum that can be used to clean them up. No refunds will be given for bug-related issues. If using GPS, we recommend that guests pre-download the directions, as the signal in the mountains can be spotty. Please note that the house is on a dirt road. Coming from the direction of East Bakersfield Road (off Vt Route 108), the dirt stretch is about 1 mile. Coming from the other direction, Lapland Road (off Vt Route 109), the dirt stretch is about 5 miles. Depending on the weather, this dirt stretch can be rough to drive so we highly recommend going via 108. Booking party must be age 21+, and must be present at the home for the duration of the stay.
