Welcome to Wanderlust Cabin, a cabin our guests describe as 'better than you can imagine.' We are located in the remote and peaceful town of Ponderosa. This High Sierra mountain cabin offers comfort, silence, and a place to detach and unwind from the city in front of our cozy fireplace. We are the perfect home base for visiting Trail of 100 Giants, Freeman Creek Tail/George Bush Tree, Seven Teacups, Dome Rock, Slate Mountain, Nobe Yong Falls, and all the Sequoia National Forest has to offer. High-Tech Features: Tae highlights our 'Nest-controlled thermostat, Sonos, smart locks, etc.' Other things to note Things You Need to Know About Our Cabin Remote Location: Our cabin is nestled in the small, residential-only town of Ponderosa, CA. The nearest store is 30-45 minutes away, and the closest gas station is about 45 minutes from the cabin. Be sure to stock up on all your essentials before arriving! Power Considerations: While power is generally reliable, due to the remote location, outages can occur—especially during the winter months. Please be prepared for this possibility as part of your wilderness experience. Internet Access: We offer Starlink internet, which is usually fast and reliable. However, being in the woods means that connectivity can vary depending on the conditions. Wildlife and Critters: Ponderosa is home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, bears, mountain lions, and smaller critters like bats, flies, mosquitoes, and even mice. While we do our best to keep the flying insects out by recommending that doors and windows be kept closed unless screened, please be aware that mice are a reality in this wilderness setting and may occasionally find their way into the cabin. We do our best to manage this, but it's part of the authentic, rustic experience. Hiking Safety: For those who enjoy hiking, we provide bear spray to ensure your outdoor adventures are both safe and enjoyable. Always be aware of your surroundings and respect the wildlife.
