Our 1922 Peaceful Valley Farmhouse is in the heart of Woodstock. It is a completely renovated home that provides numerous modern amenities, vintage elegance & charm, indoor/outdoor living and exceptional comfort. Within walking distance to town, you can take advantage of quaint restaurants and shops and lots of history. Nearby is the Shenandoah River, mountain ranges & trails, historic battlefields & museums, award-winning wineries & breweries, antique emporiums and year-round activities! The space THE SPACE ⌂ Perfect for couples, families or friends...the farmhouse can accommodate up to 6 people! ⌂ Completed renovated home - we spent 1-1/2 years renovating this home from top-to-bottom. We retained the vintage feel that is genuine to the area, but we made it new, light/bright, elegant, comfortable, cozy & peaceful. ⌂ Cook's Kitchen is brand new!...new cabinets, quartz counter-tops, new S.S. appliances (refrigerator, oven/stove, dishwasher, fully stocked with pots, pans, baking dishes, utensils, salad spinner. The kitchen has a microwave, an Air Fryer, a 4-slice toaster and a blender. We tried to think of everything you would need to prepare all of your meals if you so choose. We provide all dishwashing supplies, sponges, hand-towels, etc. ⌂ We provide 2 sets of dishes - a set of white ceramic dishes and a set of multi-colored plastic melamie dishes. We have also provided glassware & plastic glasses to use as you wish with your family's meals. ⌂ Comfortable sectional couch in living room with electric fireplace for ambiance & warmth (it has its own heater) and a 65" Samsung Smart TV. ⌂ Desk with under-cabinet lighting & easy-to-reach USB plugs for your computers, iPads, phone & other electronic devices. ⌂ We have FAST WiFi for your internet service and for streaming on the TV or your electronic devices. ⌂ Dining Room has gorgeous antique table with Croft & Barrow upholstered chairs for your dining comfort...or maybe for chatting with friends or playing a game. We have even provided a variety of different colored tablecloths for the kitchen & dining tables, should you want to make the table beautiful. ⌂ Coffee Bar Room with its own buffet - 3 coffee pots - Keurig, Mr. Coffee 8-cup, Mr. Coffee 4-cup and Electric Tea Kettle. We provide a variety of coffees & teas for your pleasure...with caffeine, decaf & herbal; plus sugar, honey, stevia and coffeemate creamer. ⌂ The home has 2 decks as seen in the photos - 1 has access from the Living Room and the Kitchen/Coffee Bar Room on the main level. It has a large outdoor table with very comfortable chairs for your outdoor dining and relaxing. The other deck is accessed from the Primary Bedroom upstairs and has beautiful views of the mountains to the East with a bench & chairs for you to sit & relax. ⌂ The downstairs deck and the fire-pit patio have outside "mood" lighting to enhance your evenings. The deck light switch is inside the coffee bar room at the back door. The firepit/patio lights have their own switch on the post by the BBQ grill. ⌂ The front porch is set-up for your relaxation with a swing & 2 comfortable rocking chairs. ⌂ The back yard is large and fully fenced in. Enjoy the patio which has comfortable seating, a fire-pit, a BBQ Grill, and a table with 4 chairs for a picnic and an umbrella for shade. The yard is large enough for your dogs to run (we even provide poopy bags for your clean-up) and for children to play some outdoor games. We provide a small bundle of wood for your first fire in the fire-pit. ⌂ The bedrooms all have very comfortable mattresses and bedding. The sheets are 100% cotton...the King & Queen Beds have Organic Cotton linens. Duvets and soft blankets make sure you are warm and cozy. ⌂ We have provided power strips with USB on each side of each bed for your re-charging needs. ⌂ Our towels are plush & absorbent...better than most hotels with extras available as needed. ⌂ The home has 2 full bathrooms - the upstairs bathroom has a tub & shower, toilet & vessel sink; the downstairs bathroom has a fully tiled walk-in shower with glass doors, toilet & vessel sink. We have provided shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap and hand lotion in each bathroom. ⌂ A Samsung Washer & Dryer is located in the upstairs bathroom and is available for your use, along with laundry supplies. ⌂ The 3rd bedroom has been set-up as a children's room with games, stuffed animals, puzzles, etc. but could easily sleep 2 adults. This room has room darkening curtains that really block out the light. ⌂ For those traveling with children, we have also provided a rocking chair and small table/chairs in the 3rd bedroom. A pack-and-play and toddler training potty is stored in the Primary Bedroom closet for your use as needed. Additionally, we have 2 child "booster seats" that strap down to the dining chairs. We also have provided 2 baby gates you can use at the top of the stairs and on the downstairs deck...these gates are NOT intended to replace adult supervision and we do not make any guarantees...they are your basic expandable baby gate...they are not fool-proof. You are responsible to supervise your children at all times. ⌂ For unexpected emergencies we have provided a fire extinguisher in the kitchen, a fire escape ladder for the second floor (stored in the Primary Bedroom Closet), a lantern & a few flashlights for power outages and a First Aid kit (in the upstairs bathroom cabinet). Our Welcome Book has more information about Police, Fire, Ambulance, Urgent Care, Veterinary Care, etc. should that be needed. ⌂ The house has smoke & CO2 detectors in every room in the house (except for the bathrooms). The alarms are not connected to a n Alarm company or reporting system, so SHOULD THERE BE AN ALARM, YOU NEED TO CALL 911 AND REPORT THE EMERGENCY RIGHT AWAY! AND PLEASE NOTIFY US AS SOON AS POSSIBLE THEREAFTER! THE TOWN Peaceful Valley Farmhouse is located in the historic town of Woodstock. Woodstock was founded in 1772 and is now 250 years old. Much of the town is authentic and charming...its historic buildings & homes that are well cared for make this town a special one. The town itself is great for walking...safe streets...some with brick or cobblestone. The downtown is on Main Street and includes some great shops & restaurants that we list in our Welcome Book. Woodstock - and the surrounding area - are now home to some of the best wineries & craft breweries in Virginia. The area has a ton of history to explore and appreciate. And the river & mountains call its residents and visitors to come take a deep breath, relax and enjoy what nature lovingly offers. Our Welcome Book has many suggestions for things to do in the Shenandoah Valley area (and beyond). We will message you prior to check-in with some of these ideas and you can access the information in the Welcome Book after you arrive. Also, we have a basket of numerous brochures that provide good information about the many places you can visit and enjoy. You may want to be on the porch, deck or fire-pit patio at sunset...turn on the "mood" lighting, light the fire in the fire-pit and enjoy the evening (weather permitting, of course). GUEST INFO ⌂ We have gone to great lengths to provide a quiet & calming space that is very private. The entire back yard is completely fenced in and we provided privacy railings on the back deck and front porch that let you enjoy your time outside. ⌂ The brand new Heat Pump will provide year-round comfort - warmth throughout the house in the cooler weather and whole-house air-conditioning for the warmer weather. ⌂ Each bedroom has an overhead ceiling fan with different settings for your comfort. The remotes for each are mounted on the wall just inside each bedroom. ⌂ Each bedroom has a dresser for your clothing storage. The Primary and 2nd Bedrooms each have generous closets with hangers for storage. The 3rd bedroom does not have a closet (but does have a dresser). ⌂ Our Fire-Pit & BBQ Policies are provided in the Welcome Book. Please review after check-in. WE DO NOT ALLOW SMOKING OR VAPING ON THE PROPERTY! WE DO NOT ALLOW PARTIES OR LOUD NOISE ON THE PROPERTY! Gatherings of family & friends should be respectful of the neighbors who live next door and across the street. We ask "quiet time" begin at 10:00 p.m. until the next morning. PET POLICY ⌂ You must notify us at the time of the reservation if you are bringing a pet with you. We must authorize the pets prior to check-in. ⌂ We only allow a MAXIMUM OF 2 DOGS! ⌂ Your dogs MUST be well-mannered, house-trained! No aggressive dogs, no dogs that chew or bite, no dogs that bark repetitively/incessantly. ⌂ You are responsible for your pet at all times. If your dog has separation anxiety or other concerns please do not leave them alone in the house as they may become destructive ⌂ We charge a Pet Fee of $50/reservation to cover the additional costs of cleaning. ⌂ No puppies or dogs that are not fully house-trained. Our farmhouse has original pine wood floors that are 105 years old...we do not want them damaged or destroyed from dog urine or scratching or chewing. Please be responsible & considerate. ⌂ We do NOT allow any pet other than 2 dogs maximum. No cats, birds, ferrets, gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, bunnies, snakes or animals of any other kind. ⌂ The fully fenced back yard is a great place for your dog to run and play. Do not leave them outside if you leave the house as they may bark & disturb the neighbors. ⌂ We have provided "poopy" bags at the bottom of the downstairs deck stairs for your convenience. You are responsible to clean-up after your own dog. You may discard the poop bags in the trash can that is under the deck stairs (accessed from just outside the gate entrance to the back yard. ⌂ We do provide a dog bed, water & food bowls, some dog treats (but please bring your own). ⌂ Please bring your own collar/harness, leash, dog food and other supplies you think your dog would enjoy. ⌂ We do not provide a crate. There is also street parking in front of the house (which is open to anyone). The place is yours to enjoy! Other things to note We ask that guests NOT use the barn that is at the back end of the property...we use it for storage and it is NOT safe for our guests to access.
