Am Bothan - a cosy retreat on the Isle of Skye

Am Bothan (translates from Gaelic as Wee Place) is on a former croft on the Isle of Skye. This is an ideal place for couples or singles wanting simple accommodation in this beautiful part of the island. The property has a fully equipped kitchen with hob, oven, microwave, fridge and washing machine (free to use). WiFi is included. Please note that there is one bed and no space upstairs to sleep on the floor. Charging of Electric Vehicles is NOT permitted The space Am Bothan was originally built in the 1920s by the owner’s Grandfather, as a Cobblers Workshop. It has recently been renovated as a Tiny House style annex. The accommodation is compact, and has restricted height in most areas so those over 6 feet tall may find they need to duck their heads when moving around. The bedroom is upstairs, so may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility. You are welcome to walk through the field down to the rocky shore which is secluded, and there is a chance of seeing otters (particularly at dusk). During the summer there are Ponies and sometimes sheep on the Croft. Please ensure that all gates to the fields are kept closed to keep the livestock in. Guest access The area outside the door is for you to park in. You are welcome to walk around the croft and go through the gate down to the shore, where you might be lucky to see some of our wildlife - there are Otters in the area. Please ensure you close the gate behind you. Other things to note Please note that there is one bed - a double bed sized Sofa bed. This will be made up as a bed for you when you arrive. You can fold it up to make a sofa if you wish. Am Bothan is not suitable for Babies or small children due to the steep stairs and lack of space for a cot or child bed. We therefore do not have any child safety equipment, cots or high chairs, and do not take bookings that include Babies or young children. This property is strictly Non-Smoking. We do NOT permit charging of Electric or Hybrid vehicles at the property. There is an Electric Charging Station at An Crubh, on the road to Broadford. An Crubh also has a small shop, Post Office and Café to use while you recharge. Registration Details HI-31212-P
