Because you deserve it! The space Rose Cottage was fully renovated and opened to guests in September 2022. This detached cottage offers easy private access, exclusive off-road parking, an EV charging point, and high-speed dedicated Wi-Fi. This charming, traditional stone-built cottage dates back to 1826 and is brimming with character. A cosy retreat, it remains warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Listed as a heritage property, it is a classic Peak District limestone cottage, once serving as accommodation for an old nearby dairy farm. The cottage features full oil-fired central heating throughout, ensuring a warm welcome on your arrival. Wherever possible, we have used natural materials in the renovation. For instance, the walls and ceilings are finished with natural lime plaster. Given that Rose Cottage is nearly 200 years old, many of the building materials used in its original construction would have been reclaimed at the time. You will have full access to the entire cottage and garden for your exclusive use. On the ground floor, you'll find a cosy living room featuring a traditional log-burning stove, a comfortable John Lewis sofa (please note, this is not a sofa bed so it is comfortable!), and a smart connected TV. The living room leads into the fully equipped kitchen, where there is everything you need to prepare a three-course meal or simply a quick snack. The kitchen includes a full-size electric hob and fan oven, a microwave, and a full-size under-counter fridge and a dishwasher. Ample storage cupboards are available, along with a complete range of kitchen utensils, a Nespresso coffee machine, a cafetière, a stick blender, and a mini food processor. The lobby area has a dining table and chairs, offering beautiful breakfast views down the Manifold Valley and across the hilly countryside beyond. This space also serves as an ideal spot for occasional work, whether for quick office catch-ups or more focused remote work, should you need it. Guests have used Rose Cottage as a "work-from-home" retreat even a hushcation, with reliable Wi-Fi speeds it's a great place to work. From the lobby, a door leads upstairs to the and bedroom and full bathroom. Wake up slowly to the soothing sounds of the dawn chorus from the comfort of the luxurious king-size bed. The bedroom is equipped with individual bedside tables and lamps, a dressing table with a mirror, and a smart TV for late night films or a lazy morning The en-suite bathroom has a wash basin, toilet, a large separate powerful shower, and a double-ended bathtub. Fluffy bath towels and soft bed linens are provided for your comfort. Guests rave about the cosy bed and pillows. We’ve included many thoughtful touches to ensure you feel truly welcome and make the most of your stay. We put in the effort so you can slow down, relax, recharge, and unwind. It is peaceful and quiet location. The entire cottage is available just for you. This is an adults only cottage with no facilities for children or babies. We are sorry but; guests that book in children will be asked to cancel. Wet boots and coats can be left to dry in the cottage boiler room. There is also a washing machine for your sole use. There is extra complimentary firewood for the cosy woodburner available in the boiler room. The cottage has plenty of lawned garden space to sit out and enjoy. There is garden furniture for a relaxing morning coffee or chilled evening glass of wine. Other things to note The cottage features gated front and rear gardens, fully enclosed with walls and fencing, making them ideal for letting your dog enjoy some fresh air safely. Adjacent to the cottage is an easily accessible private, secure parking area, ensuring your vehicle is safely off the road. Electric vehicle owners will appreciate the convenience of a 32A/7kW Zappi EV charging unit with a Type 2 connector, located just next door at Lime Tree Farm. This charging station is available 24/7 and is only moments away from the cottage. There is no formal charge for EV charging we simply work on an honesty box basis. Our standard check-in and check-out days are Monday and Friday. However, for last-minute bookings during quieter periods, we can often offer greater flexibility with arrival and departure days.
