Historic 1850s Home in Heart of Downtown CHS!

5-star rated 1850's home situated in the "Old City Historic District" on the mid-to west-side of the downtown Charleston peninsula. Less than a 10-minute walk to the center of the famous King St. Walking distance to the College Of Charleston, MUSC/Roper Hospital, Hampton Park & countless shops, restaurants, cafes & night life. 20 mins or less drive to 3 beaches (Folly beach, Sullivan’s Island, & Isle of Palms). 10 mins to famous old Mt Pleasant/Shem Creek! Read our reviews!! NO additional fees!. The space Our downtown home is ideal if you need private accommodations for a wedding, a family gathering, working remotely, attending a nearby school, etc.. The home was built in 1852 and still has much of its original charm and quirks you'd expect from a 150 year old home which has been modified over the years including some "modern" amenities. Our home has three bedrooms that are identical in size, two full bathrooms (one with a 4' tub and the other with a shower stall) , a well stocked full kitchen, a living area, and dining area. Every bedroom has a dresser, shelf, closet, bedside table and bed. Two of the bedrooms have desks for working (one is a motorized sit-stand desk). One of the bedrooms has office supplies such as a printer, tape, hole punch, scissors, etc.. Note that we do NOT have TVs in the bedrooms, but if this is a deal breaker let us know and we'll see if we can accommodate your specific needs. There is one HDTV/Smart TV in the living room which guests use to access streaming services, but it also has an over the air antennae which provides access to all the major broadcast stations. Some details about our home that guest tend to ask about: This Airbnb is on the first floor of a "Charleston Single" duplex and there are 3 steps to enter in from street-level. Once inside the home there are no stairs, but being an 1850's home with various renovations over the years there are a couple floor height "transitions" that are equal to or less than a standard step, so please ensure you are physically able to maneuver around the home with these transitions. Please note that we are constantly improving our home and the amenities based on feedback from our guests, so the specific details captured in our photos may have changed before we've had a chance to update the photos. All changes will be improvements to the space and therefor you will benefit from these changes. Therefore if you have any specific questions about our space that you need to know please feel free to message us and we'll tell you all you want to know because we want to be well informed. Guest access This is a full townhouse/apartment on the first level of a duplex home with no shared interior spaces. Access is contact-free and controlled by a keypad deadbolt on the front and rear doors for your own personal use. The lock combination is supplied via the Airbnb app the morning of check-in unless you've requested your own unique code - and we've confirmed that it's been configured. The lock is very easy to use; simply enter your code and press the "Ultraloq" button. If you get stuck we can let you in remotely. Other things to note This home has been enjoyed by many Airbnb guests and earned and 5 star reviews over the years. We've operated this home as an Airbnb from the moment we purchased the home a couple years ago and we only only have this one home listed on Airbnb. So you can consider our listing as the original Airbnb experience that was dreamed up many years ago when Airbnb started - homeowners opening up their home for a unique experience for guests to enjoy. We travel a lot and understand what it takes to have a great guest experience, but we're not perfect (yet)!
