Inside the Castle of Murlo, a small medieval village, our charming apartment is for rent. Recently renovated and family-run, it is divided into two floors: On the ground floor there is a living room kitchen, a large double bedroom and a sofa bed with a private bathroom. Upstairs, there are two more double bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom. The public parking is located outside the Castle walls. Bike rental available (including electric bikes) The space "Appartamento il Castello" is an old house located within the medieval village of Murlo, a castle dating back to 1100 situated on a small hill overlooking the Sienese hills and only 25 km south of Siena. The space: It has 3 double bedrooms and one with a double sofa bed, each with a private bathroom with shower, a living room/fully equipped kitchen (oven, dishwasher, electric coffee maker or moka pot, kettle, dishes, cooking utensils, washing machine), and a closet room. When you arrive, the beds will already be ready with sheets and blankets. The kitchen is always available to guests and is stocked with our good extra virgin olive oil, vinegar, salt, and sugar. To welcome you, we will provide everything you need for breakfast in our house: a homemade dessert, milk, juice, coffee, and tea. The apartment is located in the central square of the small village. Murlo has Etruscan origins, and its history begins in the 7th century BC. In fact, in the Etruscan Museum located inside the castle, you can admire all the Etruscan artifacts found on the hill opposite the village, which include everyday objects and strange statues that have become the symbol of Murlo. Pienza, Montalcino, and the Crete Senesi area are a short distance away. Siena is 25 km away, and San Gimignano and Monteriggioni are also a short distance away. In the Val di Mersa area, don't miss a visit to the Abbey of San Galgano and the sword in the stone! If you want to relax and take a thermal bath, a short distance away there are the Bagni di Petriolo, completely immersed in nature, or the Bagni di San Filippo, also immersed in nature and located at the foot of Monte Amiata (about 1 hour away from Murlo). Otherwise, about 40 minutes by car, there are 2 spa facilities, Terme Antica Querciolaia and Terme San Giovanni, located in the center of Rapolano. Florence and Arezzo are about 1 hour away. Murlo is a particularly quiet and relaxing place that will allow you to spend days in complete relaxation. For bike lovers, we are close to the Eroica routes, and for those who love taking nice walks, we are close to the Via Francigena route. You can come on vacation with your pets! New for 2026: 1) You can book a wine tasting tour at a winery located about 800 meters from Murlo. There are 2 tours: * The first includes a guided visit to the Etruscan Museum of Murlo + a tasting at the winery (duration: about 3 hours). * the second includes a tour of the winery + tasting (duration about 2 hours) Languages: Italian, English, Spanish when: Wednesday - Sunday.
