Shady Oaks Cottage & Pool: Peace & Relaxation

Relax at Shady Oaks Cottage, a private 3-bedroom guest house on our quiet 4-acre Wimberley property. Families, dogs, wedding weekends, and winery-weekend groups love the shared pool and spa, two play areas, fire pit, grill, fenced acreage, and shady oaks. The cottage itself is fully private. The pool, spa, and acreage are shared with the main house, which our family uses occasionally. We keep expectations clear so guests can decide whether the property is the right fit before booking. The space The cottage has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, dining area, and a well-stocked kitchenette. One bathroom has a tub for kid baths or a relaxing soak. The kitchenette includes a full-size refrigerator and freezer, Keurig with pods, microwave, toaster oven/air fryer, portable induction cooktop, kettle, blender, cookware, dishes, and glassware. There is not a full oven, but there is a propane grill on the front patio for outdoor cooking. We are about 7 minutes from The Shady Llama and a little over 10 minutes from Wimberley Square. The cottage is also close to Hill Country swimming holes, wedding venues, wineries, breweries, and distilleries. Guest access Guests have exclusive access to the cottage and shared access to the 4-acre fenced property, pool, and spa. The main house is also on the property and may be occupied by our family during your stay. The fire pit area near the cottage is for guest use. It is wood-burning, so please bring your own firewood and use it only when county burn rules allow. The yard includes large shady oak trees, picnic tables, a wooden playset, trampoline, and metal jungle gym. Children should be supervised outside, especially around the pool, spa, trampoline, and play structures. The pool and spa are not fenced. Pool heat is weather-dependent and generally works best when daytime highs are around 70 or above. The spa can be heated year-round. Until our guest QR controls are live, please message us when you would like spa heat turned on. It usually takes about 20 minutes in warmer weather and closer to an hour in cooler weather. We work hard to keep the pool clean and available, but heavy rain, wind, or maintenance needs can occasionally make swimming temporarily unavailable. We cannot guarantee pool availability, but we make every reasonable effort to keep it usable during guest stays. Please pack pool towels; house bath towels should stay inside. Other things to note Shady Oaks Cottage is a strong fit for families with kids, dog-friendly Hill Country weekends, wedding weekends, winery trips, and quiet getaways with close friends. It is not a fit for parties, events, or groups looking for exclusive use of an entire estate. The cottage is private, but the pool, spa, driveway, and acreage are shared with the main house. Our family uses the main house occasionally, especially on weekends, so you may see us or our children on the property. Exterior security cameras monitor outdoor areas such as the driveway/entry, guest house front patio, pool/common areas, and areas around the main house for safety and liability. There are no indoor cameras. The setting is peaceful and rural. You may hear or see wildlife, neighbor animals, chickens, donkeys, or normal property maintenance during your stay.
