Medieval Castle in Kamnik City Center - Trutzturn

The medieval fortress named Trutzturn was built approximately 600 years ago as a defensive tower against Turkish attacks. It is located on a hill above the center of the town of Kamnik, offering a magnificent view and quick pedestrian access to the center. Looking north provides a beautiful view of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, and on clear days, you can see all the way to the capital city of Ljubljana to the south, not to mention the stunning view of the rooftops of houses in the center of Kamnik. The space The building was once connected to the town via underground tunnels, which are now buried. There is also a World War II bunker on our ramparts, built by the Germans when they occupied our property. Over the centuries, ownership has changed hands, with the longest continuous ownership spanning over 100 years or five generations, held by our family, the Rauters. After extensive interior renovation, we have been living here for nine years. Every day, we are grateful for this unique home in a wonderful location, which we immensely enjoy. The comfortable accommodation is suitable for 6 people. In the courtyard, a pleasant atmosphere is created by the shade of a 300-year-old wild chestnut tree and a romantic French park where you can sit. If you prefer a sunny spot, you have the option of enjoying the comfort by a small pool, which is also available. You can use the barbecue, and of course, the outdoor kitchen is at your disposal as well. The water is drinkable and of very high quality, in fact, one of the best in Europe. Parking is available in the courtyard. Bicycles are available for borrowing. The bus and train stations are a 2-minute walk away. Guest access Guest access is easy, as the house is located in the center of Kamnik, about 20 km from Ljubljana and the same distance from Brnik Airport. Nearby are the famous Velika Planina and Arboretum park, which always enchant. You can also visit the Snovik Thermal Spa and play golf. If you opt for a day trip, you can visit the Adriatic coast, Postojna Cave, as well as foreign cities such as Venice, Klagenfurt, Vienna, Budapest, and Zagreb.
