Peaceful and relaxed bungalow at the shores of the lake of Atitlan with gorgeous views. If you are looking for a place to rest your soul while being immersed into the "most beautiful lake of the world" but still being close to the traditional Mayan village of San Juan La Laguna with it's abundant works of art and hand made clothes and it's profound faith and religious life this is the right spot for you. The space You have direct access to the shore of the lake through our garden (200 metres to the lake shore). There are small paths along the shore that vary depending on the lake level which tend to rise and fall during seasons. The local pier with boats to other villages along the lakeside is only 5 mins by foot away. There are small shops in the village itself that should provide you with Guatemala groceries, the best equipped ones are 10 mins by foot away. There is a market close by (5 mins by foot) where you can get fresh vegetables and fruits. You can find a lot of restaurants with local and international food in San Juan too, other options could be going to San Pedro La Laguna (5 mins by boat) or San Marcos La Laguna (10 mins by boat) which are other touristic places along the lakeside. 5 mins by foot away is also the local newly built catholic church that you shouldn't miss, it has a small chapel where the Holy Sacrament is being adored 24 hrs a day. Guest access We have marked the property without parking space though indeed there is a parking space under a car port on the property. But the road leading to the property is small (150 m long and 2.35 m wide), so you need to be a good driver. Else you are able to find other parking opportunities in the town itself if you don't want to go down the narrow road with your car. Other things to note NOTE : we don’t have any TV in the house so you might want to bring a laptop if you feel like watching a movie or streaming something over the internet
