You won't need a car when you stay at this centrally-located quiet family home just 3 miles to Michigan Stadium. You can bus, walk, or bike to football games easily. (See bus info below) Our newly renovated outdoor space is perfect for evening fires and quality conversation. Or, listen to the trickle of Mallet's Creek running through the backyard while sipping on your morning coffee. GAME DAY: - The AATA Bus Stop is a 4 minute walk from our home. The #24 Bus can take you to Briarwood Mall where there is a Game Day Shuttle (called FootballRide) expressly to/from the Big House. See all information on The Ride's website. - We host two bikes on-site available for you to use, upon request (they are locked in our shed currently). See below for more information. - Ann Arbor hosts Spin electric scooters. Download the App onto your device and use all over town. You will occasionally even find Spin scooters on our block. OUR PROPERTY: The property is very private and quiet. The 100+ year old trees and Mallets Creek make it feel like a woodland park setting with the convenience of a city location. Outdoors you'll find a beautifully landscaped paver patio with a dining set that seats four comfortably and converts into a propane fire pit. We have additional seating available. The backyard also hosts a propane grill with grilling tools, a swing set, sand box, and a cedar play house. The fence to the Creek is safely secured to prevent children from accessing the creek. Our back porch is perfect for Michigan summers and falls to escape bugs but still enjoy some time outdoors. It is fully enclosed but not insulated. This is our personal family home. We've updated spaces over the years and have a consistent cleaning schedule even when we do not list the home. You can expect there to be signs of an active family. Please do not open our bedroom closets or basement storage. Please let us know the ages of your children and we will do our best to make some age appropriate toys available. You'll have access to the entire house which includes our master bedroom and our children's bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen bed and room for a pack n play, upon request. The 2nd Bedroom has a bunk bed (the top bunk has a weight limit of 150 lbs, the bottom bunk has no weight limit) and space for a roll away bed, upon request. The third bedroom has a single daybed that converts into a king, if preferred. The living room sofa is very large and available for sleeping up to 2 adults. The living room also has space for our 2nd roll away bed, upon request. Our roll away beds are smaller than a standard twin and are suitable for children and teens. They are stored at my parents house so please let us know if you'd like to use them and we will happily retrieve them for you. Likewise, if you would like the twin trundle prepared as a King, I will happily prepare it for you upon request. There is a smart TV in the living room with guest access to YouTube TV for local programming including sports, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, and Paramount+ There is one full bathroom on the main level and an extra toilet in the basement, if needed. Up to 10 guests will be provided brand new bath towels. 4 Hand towels and 4 washcloths will also be available. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, plates, etc. (including plastic children's ware), cooking utensils, spices, and basic pantry items. We will prepare space in our pantry and refrigerator for your short-term stay or remove all items for stays 7-10 days. You can request access to our two adult bikes. One is a Trek Townie and the other is a Trek Mountain bike with an attached child's seat. You'll be required to always lock the bikes using the provided bike locks and park them in our covered shelter overnight. You are welcome to bring more bikes with you and store them safely on-site during your stay. Ann Arbor is a very bike-friendly town. You'll find many bike lanes and bike racks for locking all over town. For most weekends we will be staying with family in Ann Arbor and should be available via Airbnb message. Free parking in the driveway and free street parking LOCAL AMENITIES: The home is close to public transportation and walking distance to groceries, dining and shopping. Arbor Hills is a short 15 minute walk for dining at Zola Bistro, Bigalora, and Shake Shack, or shopping at Lululemon, Madewell, Anthropologie, Sur La Table and others. Other family favorites are a 10 minute walk away: DJ's Bakery and Little Caesar's. We also enjoy being close to other Ann Arbor Favorites: Bagel Fragel, Roos Roast Coffee, Fraser's Pub, and YORK. Whole Foods, Bombay Grocers and Galleria Market are within walking distance. Meanwhile Trader Joe's and Kroger are both a 5 minute drive or 10 minute bike ride away. County Farm Park, Scheffler Park, and Buhr Park are all within walking/riding distance and offer excellent space for running, hiking, or playground time. Buhr Park offers an outdoor skating rink in the winter and a pool in the summer.
