Description

If you're looking for simplicity, here it is, in the middle of the forest. A very rustic cabin, in its original state. You'll feel like you're in the north and in another era. It's one of the first bioclimatic houses in Spain, with reused materials. To read, immerse yourself in nature, rest, connect with your partner, enjoy as a family. 100% ecological and solar house, within a farm with dogs, cats, chickens, chestnuts, cherry trees and fig trees. Bordering the Gredos Natural Park. The space We saw this place and fell in love right away, without losing the ability to wonder every day. We found it the right place to reconnect with the land, and to undertake a different lifestyle than what we had been taught. Stunning hydrangeas at the end of spring and the color palette in the fall. In winter it is very cozy and bucolic and you can catch chestnuts inside the finca. In summer it is a great option to escape from the massifications and enjoy the figs and the nearby natural pools. As for the cabin, it's energy efficiency certification A, with a butano gas stove and a firewood stove. The stove heats the serpins that heat the entire house. The house has few plugs so you have to have some detachment to have a lot of electrical appliances plugged in. There is no wifi although you can bring your details. It's all very rustic but cozy and has a very characteristic smell that transports you to another era. You have a small terrace full of vines to enjoy at the end of summer. You share the estate with other houses where you can have all the space in a start-up way and make routes in the natural park, a few meters from the house The casita has a double bed in the room downstairs (1.35 m) a lower double bed of the same size. There is a sofa bed in the living room that is not as comfortable as a bed but makes the fit for an eventual fifth person. We have cot if needed. There are other dogs, chickens, and wild animals may approach. No house is fenced so if everyone takes care of their animals, you can coexist without problems. You can walk around the estate, 15 min. are the fountains, poyales and archaeological remains still not dated: remains of circular stone constructions (castros?), shelters, etc. In summer you can't miss the natural pools. We are going to one where we tend to be alone. On the estate you can collect mushrooms, chestnuts, figs and many other fruits in addition to the eggs of our hens. You can access an endless number of routes, there are many workshops in the area, ethnobotanical recognition, there are adventure or sports services, bike rental, therapeutic massages, etc. We are in a haven of tranquility, but at the same time far from the urban centers, the closest thing is Poyales del Hoyo, between Candeleda and Arenas de San Pedro. It takes about half an hour to get to Arenas or Candeleda. So it's interesting to come with the purchase made. We have another designer cabin on the same property with heating for couples. Ask us. To visit you can go to Candeleda that has quite a vibe, Arenas de San Pedro, Guisando or Villages de la Vera. Ask us about recommendations to go out to eat. Other points of interest: Castillo de Arenas Mosquera Palace with Exhibitions Castillo de Oropesa Castro del Raso Chilla Sanctuary Rosarito Reservoir Cuevas de Águilas Other things to note You ✏️can enjoy picking chestnuts, figs, mushrooms, and cherries in season, and our free-range eggs without herbicides or pesticides, if any. ✏️First there is a paved forest track, with curves and you have to go slowly. Then the road is dirt for the last 2 km. We go up and down with regular cars, although very low sports cars are not recommended. If you have qualms about driving on this stretch of land, consider that maybe you're not ready for this place. You'll surely find something more suitable for you. If you're looking for something central in Arenas de San Pedro, this isn't the place either. Arenas is about 45 minutes away. ✏️Our house and guest house is 100% bioclimatic, disconnected from the grid, powered by an energy system only based on solar energy and batteries, which although it is well dimensioned, we only use a hair dryer if there is a lot of sun, we put washing machines, iron from 10am and if there are cloudy days, we wait....if there are many rainy days in a row and we do not charge well, we put ourselves in slow mode.  It doesn't usually happen, but we like to share the dynamics as it's the only way to provide truly respectful and sustainable park accommodation. ✏️There is no heating, the entire cabin is heated with the fireplace. There is no air conditioning either. ✏️ It has basic kitchenware, a refrigerator, a gas stove and a wood stove, and an Italian coffee maker for powdered coffee. ✏️Our water is spring water, and with very good qualification in the analysis we did in the laboratory, with low mineralization. However, the pipes in this cabin are old and taste like copper. It's recommended to bring mineral water. ✏️Remember that we are a bit away from "civilization", so it is advisable to come with groceries. To do the shopping, there are a couple of small stores in Poyales del Hoyo. To do supermarket shopping we usually go to the town of Candeleda, to Día or to La Despensa.  Candeleda's cheese and chickpeas are famous! ✏️We are continuously learning and we follow the principles  of permaculture, we compost our garbage, we are committed to biodiversity, respect and saving resources. You can bring your organic kitchen scraps to the chickens as well. ✏️Please note that we have two mastiffs, a cat and a chicken coop, as well as wild boars and deer that can approach. ✏️We have hiking trails that pass by our house, beautiful natural pools very close by. If you're interested in ethnobotanical, pottery, mycology, birdwatching, or restaurant recommendations in the area, we can help. The Kafkian publishing house also coexists✏️ inside the forest house. ✏️IMPORTANT: IN CASE OF very intense and persistent RAINS, we may need to postpone your visit or you may be aware that if you choose to come in these conditions we may have limitations of electricity supply and water pressure, despite the batteries and the generator. And that access to the forest track in the last section may be more complicated. ✏️Your financial contributions will be used exclusively to improve and maintain the property in addition to providing resources for our own permaculture, preservation and biodiversity expansion projects. ✏️ We have a simple charcoal barbecue for each house. There are months, especially in summer, when forestry prohibits its use. We ask that whoever uses it, takes care of cleaning it. ✏️ There is a very rustic pool (without chlorine) that we are in the process of transforming into a bio-pool. If there is a drought, we will use it as a water reservoir for the garden. Be careful, come with closed shoes or jellyfish shoes because there are chestnut thorns. We don✏️'t have WiFi coverage, and you may need to move around to get good coverage. If you have data on your mobile, it usually works well, although large stone walls can hinder the signal. Phone calls can be cut off sometimes. Lately the signal has improved around here. 👇 ✏️We have the Tempo 33 coworking and multipurpose space for workshops in the village of Poyales del Hoyo, 15 minutes from the house by car. Ask us. ✏️ Guys, this is the countryside, there are insects and something can sneak in despite cleaning efforts. Keep that in mind! If anyone is allergic to oaks, pines, olive trees, insects or others, come prepared. ✏️ And although it may seem obvious, guests of any ethnicity, origin, religion, sexual orientation, etc. are welcome. ✏️Unfortunately, our facilities are not the most suitable for certain disabilities related to displacement. If you have babies or want to bring older people, or you have a lot of appreciation for your new car or have never been in the middle of the forest, ask us because it depends on the character and limitations of each one. Surely this is not the most suitable place. I insist. We will give priority to people who know how to enjoy the environment and who are clear about the type of tourism they want to do.
