THIS APARTMENT The apartment in which you will be staying – GROW – is inspired by the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi (侘寂): the quiet beauty found in simplicity, imperfection, and impermanence. Designer Corina Olaru translated this philosophy into a tactile, organic environment that feels calming, grounded, and quietly luxurious. Natural, raw materials — from uncut stone to tree stumps — are woven into the space, complemented by artwork rooted in the natural cosmos: photographs of the Turda salt mine, the Black Sea, and textures drawn from Romanian earth and sky. A soft autumnal palette was intentionally chosen to blend with the treetop views outside the windows, never overpowering nature but instead reflecting its changing mood. The space flows gracefully through curved forms, rounded furniture edges, and thoughtful visual balance. The furnishings are a harmonious mix of custom pieces (couch, tables) and rare vintage finds — including a Cassina armchair, Dutch leather seating, and a stunning Palisander Rosewood coffee table. Metal, leather, and marble details create texture and contrast. Everything in GROW invites stillness and self-awareness.
