The Fisherman's Cottage

Escape the city life and bring your family to our tranquil piece of heaven. Here, time stands still and you can truly kick your shoes off and just relax from the minute you arrive. The Fisherman's cottage is located on a farm at the foot of the Drakensberg mountains; a short 17km drive from Mooi River. The cottage has panoramic views over a 6ha private trout dam and you can enjoy the spectacular sunsets while sipping your sundowner on the cottage patio, or the deck near the little waterfall. The space The cottage consists of 4 en-suite bedrooms, each with a King Size bed. Two of the rooms have beds that can be split into 2 single beds, upon request. Guest access Guests are allowed to access the whole property around the dam. If you want to see more of the farm, we could pre-arrange with one of our managers make some time to take you around and show you the mielies and some of our beautiful cattle. Other things to note Guests are permitted to fish in the private trout dam situated in front of the cottage. Should you wish to also partake in some bass fishing you can contact us to direct you to our other dam on the property. Please note we are strictly catch and release. The cottage is 15kms from town. The first 8km is tar road and the last 7km gravel. The road might sometimes become a challenge during the rainy season, and we would advise checking the conditions with us before arrival.
