Quiet basecamp for fishing and outdoor adventures. Welcome to our cabin on the edge of the Wind River. When you arrive you will notice how quiet the property is. Just the sound of the river and all the beauty and wildlife the river attracts. There are 5 private, tree filled, river front acres that surround this cabin. Directly on the rivers edge, there is a patio with outdoor dining/seating, propane fire pit and grill all for you to enjoy our wonderful Wyoming summer evenings. Just up from the patio is a covered deck, also with seating, and the best place to enjoy your morning coffee and catch some amazing wildlife/bird sightings. We have a large parking area on the property. If you’re pulling a trailer, there is room to get turned around and park/unhook. While you’re exploring the 5 acres you will notice a neighboring public pond (Pete’s Pond) just a short walking distance from the cabin. Along the pond, there is a path that ties into a public river walk that also has public fishing access along the Wind River. As you move inside our newly constructed cabin, you will find that the tranquil sound of the river follows you inside. You will enter into the open living and kitchen space first. The living room has comfortable seating, Smart TV, propane fireplace and small table. The couch pulls out, extending for extra comfort or for a possible extra sleeping option. You can sign into any of your favorite streaming apps on the TV. If your feeling chilly feel free to switch on the propane fire place to make the experience extra cozy (directions for use in the cabin manual). The small table where you will find the cabin manual can be used for extra dining or a work space. There is Wi-Fi available, and you will find the password in the cabin manual. Flowing right into the kitchen, you will find you have everything to make simple meals while staying. The kitchen is complete with electric stove/oven, refrigerator/top freezer, microwave, coffee maker, electric kettle and toaster. There is a small dining table that seats 4 as well. The sliding glass doors in the kitchen give a wonderful view out onto the river, and leads out to the covered deck and patio. From the kitchen you will notice the fun ladder entrance to the open loft. You will find it surprisingly spacious. There is a queen size bed, and its large enough for adults to sleep, but is a favorite spot for all children who stay. We ask that everyone of all ages use caution when climbing up and down and near the entrance edge, but especially children. Remember, this loft is open and doesn’t have a door. At the end of the hallway off the kitchen, you will find the larger of the 2 bedrooms. This bedroom has a king bed, 2 windows, a closet and is where extra bedding is kept. Both windows have full views. Open them up on a summer evening, and let the tranquil sound of the river drift you into a wonderful nights sleep. The second bedroom has a double/full bed, window, and the wall contains an open wardrobe hanger. This window also has an unobstructed view of the property. Open it to let in the crisp Wyoming air, and be awakened by bird melodies. Both bedrooms have their own private doors. Last, but certainly not least, this cabin has 1 full bathroom. It includes a tub/shower combo, towels, 1 sink vanity, toilet, and best of all a washer and dryer. The washer and dryer are there for your use and the detergent is supplied (under the sink) for your convenience. This quaint cabin is approximately 900sq ft. It’s best suited for 1-5 persons, but can accommodate up to 7 if needed. Dubois is the historically western, Wyoming town, in which we are located. We encourage you to visit and support all the small and locally owned shops and restaurants which we have listed in the cabin manual. Lots of our visitors come here in relation to the National Parks located near us. Our location makes for a laidback base camp if your wanting to make day trips to Yellowstone National Park, Teton National Park, or the fast paced town of Jackson Hole. The route to these sights takes you over the breathtaking Togwotee Pass. If your wanting to stick around our area, which we HIGHLY recommended, you won’t fall short finding outdoor adventure. We are surrounded by Public lands and National Forest in every direction you look. Fishing, hunting, river rafting and horseback riding are some of the guided options. If your experienced in the outdoors then your ready to enjoy our endless hiking/backpacking, biking, hunting, horseback riding, ATV and snowmobile trails. These are all just a few miles from the cabin in either direction. Dubois is also home to the newly constructed, and amazing National Museum of Military Vehicles. It is located 7 miles east of Dubois, and well worth visiting. Guests can explore any part of the 5 acres. They can access any part of the cabin and outdoor living space. The cabin and property are entirely private. If you’re needing help during your stay at the property, you can contact us by phone or on here. We will either personally help or send a professional to assist. You can keep in touch by phone. The River’s Edge cabin is approximately 1 mile from the Main Street of rural Dubois, Wyoming. The cabin is not in a neighborhood setting, but we do have some fun things to visit within walking distance of the cabin. Pete’s Pond is a public pond, connected to a public river walk with fishing access. This pond is short walking distance and visible from the cabin. On the river walk you will also notice the town rodeo grounds just a little further to the west. The rodeo is also within walking distance of the cabin, and runs all summer long, every Friday night starting at 8:00. From the walking path you will see the location of our small Dubois Medical Clinic and the Duffy’s Fitness Center(gym and physical therapy). Across the river from the cabin you may catch a glimpse of the neighbors cute mini ponies and donkeys coming down for a drink. Parking is free and there is a large parking area at the cabin, Dubois has free parking all around town. Your vehicle is how you will get around most of the time or most places your will go. We are directly on the rivers edge. This makes for an unforgettable location to stay and enjoy, but we ask that everyone of all ages, especially children take great caution when around the river. All children must be made aware of the dangers of the river and be under adult supervision when by the river. This property is so fun for families to enjoy, but we always want to remind folks to be careful. The forests and wildernesses surrounding us and the property itself are wild, beautiful and pristine, we ask and hope you keep them that way during any activity you choose.
