The space This bungalow is a newly renovated, 1920's home with 14 foot vaulted ceilings and 2 bedrooms. White walls and a surplus of Pella windows bring in light from the north, east, and south in the main gathering area, and offer sunset lighting from the west in the 2 bedrooms. The straight modular kitchen features a huge fireclay farmhouse sink with butcherblock countertops. The adjoined living/dining room combo has a queen sized sleeper sofa and a wall mounted FireTV. The dining room table comfortably fits 4, and can extend in both directions to accommodate up to 6. One bedroom is fit with a queen sized memory foam mattress, and a reach in closet. The other bedroom has a full sized memory foam mattress and a small walk in closet. The bathroom is fit with oversized 4x4 slate floor tiles and smaller quarry tiles all along the walls. From the vanity line to the ceiling, the bathroom is fit with custom cut mirror which offers an unreal spacious feeling throughout. Working from a collection of original Rockaway Boardwalk wood (brazilian Ipe), I personally milled the trim for all of the mirror, in a familiar homage to the 100 year old boardwalk that was destroyed in Hurricane Sandy. The shower stall also has a shelf made from this same wood, which is totally waterproof and wear resistant.
