Surrounded by mountains and overlooking Il Lago di Bomba, the setting feels peaceful, timeless, and deeply restorative. Due to the village’s location, a car is necessary for access and exploring the surrounding region, allowing you to fully experience the lakes, mountains, villages, and countryside that make this area so special. Approx. 1 hour from Pescara Airport Approx. 3 hours from Rome Fiumicino Airport Guest access As with most medieval hilltop villages, parking and charm go hand in hand. The easiest way to arrive is to drive to the main piazza in the center of Colledimezzo and park there. Free public parking is available in the piazza on a first-come, first-serve basis. From the piazza, the home is a short 3-minute downhill walk along a picturesque medieval pathway. The route to Casa Querencia is a charming stroll through the village and includes stairs, ramps, and handrails for support. Photos are provided to give a clear view of the pathway and access route. SELF CHECK-IN The home is accessed independently via a secure lockbox located on the terrace, with a key inside for easy self check-in and a seamless arrival experience. Other things to note OTHER DETAILS TO NOTE THE HOME Casa Querencia is a historic multi-level stone home. The original stairs on the lower level do not have a railing (as pictured) and may not be suitable for very young children or guests with mobility considerations. As is traditional in this part of Italy, the home does not have central air conditioning. Instead, it is designed for natural cooling with screens on every window, fans in every room, and excellent cross-breezes when windows are opened — a classic and comfortable way of living in Italian hill towns. The original fireplace is part of the home’s historic architecture and visual character, but it is not functional for guest use. Please do not attempt to light a fire. English is not widely spoken in the village. A few basic Italian phrases and a translation app can be very helpful and often create wonderful connections with locals. COLLEDIMEZZO Colledimezzo is a charming, intimate medieval village — peaceful, authentic, and full of character. On the main street (Via Roma), you’ll find a small grocery store, café/bar, bank, pharmacy, post office, hardware store, and local food truck. For larger shopping, dining variety, and broader services, driving is part of the experience, and exploring the surrounding region is essential to fully enjoy what this area offers. Enjoy a daily cappuccino or evening wine at Bar For You on the main piazza, pick up essentials at the village market, or shop at Coal Supermarket just 10 minutes away for larger grocery needs. Several excellent restaurants are also located within a short drive of the village.
