Welcome to our secluded grotto surrounded by Redwoods! This modern and quiet space will be a perfect respite for the many reasons you may be coming to Humboldt. Along with our local craftsman, we have created an oasis that will allow you to soak up the Redwoods, listen to the birds and watch the deer graze. Walking distance to the Majestic Arcata Community forest and Cal Poly Humboldt. As Arcata natives, we wanted to bring you a unique and unforgettable Humboldt experience. The space Construction of this modern forest grotto has just been completed the bedroom features a queen memory foam bed with cozy linens. There is a set of architectural barn doors that open up to the living room area and allow natural light in along with a view of the forest and television if you wish to turn it on. A full-length mirror is mounted to the bedroom door. Although it is listed for up to 4 guests, that is with the thought of hosting children also. Please let us know if you would like us to convert the sofa into a bed prior to your arrival. The living room has a pull-out couch and table lamps have ports to charge your phones along with a 56-inch smart TV. There is an electric fireplace that provides heating and ambiance for the entire space. The stainless steel full kitchen was designed with quartz countertops and milled redwood floating shelves. We hope you will find all the essentials. If there is anything you may need, ask and we probably have it. In the spa-like bathroom, you will find a set of robes along with a walk-in shower. With a Moen dual shower head. You will also find a stacking washer and dryer. Outside you will find a porch that includes a sitting area, dining table, gas grill, and outdoor lighting. There is also a fire pit and chairs to cozy up to at the end of the evening. Guest access Please note that the Forest Grotto is a portion of the lower level of our private home. The entry is completely separate. However, there is a chance you may hear our footsteps above you. Parking is provided in a circular under the Redwood tree (STUMP, due to recent windstorm). A path will lead you on a short walk (75 feet) to the covered front porch entrance. If arriving in the evening the path is illuminated with solar lighting. Other things to note As a host It is my passion to help make your stay memorable please contact me if you would like help making your stay unforgettable.(anniversary, honeymoon,birthday,graduation) We have a protective but friendly black Lab named Ralph, who keeps watch over the property along with Kiwi, a small but mighty Yorkshire terrier. Ralph and Kiwi may greet you. Let us know if you are not comfortable around dogs or if you would like to meet them. We are in the forest so you may share outdoor space with bannana slugs, bugs, and mosquitos. :)
