Heron Cottage, Urban Retreat-King Bed

The space Heron Cottage, built in 1914, was part of a network of small farms that existed in what was then the rural area near Portland. Now it's considered an urban vest pocket neighborhood. The cottage has been thoroughly renovated inside and out. We loved the "bones" of this place but it needed some love. The original kitchen cabinets were painstakingly refinished. The kitchen and bathroom have all new fixtures. The living space has new maple flooring, and period correct wood detailing has been installed along with new doors and windows. We loved this neighborhood so much that we added on our own new residence alongside the original cottage. Guest access You have access to the entire first floor of the original cottage, which includes bathroom, laundry, kitchen (with a kitchen table that doubles as a work space), and a living area with a king sized bed and living room. The cottage has a front and back porch for your use. Steve just finished designing and building a beautiful, private patio area in the back that is only for our airbnb guests. The woodworking and detail are fun to experience. Other things to note The furnishings are all new and have been selected to extend the urban farmhouse vernacular while providing convenience and absolute comfort. The king sized platform bed is by Thuma (look it up), the mattress and pillows are by Casper. The sofa is locally manufactured to our specifications. Registration Details 22-127085-000-00-HO
