Falls Cottage, a beautiful three bed miners cottage that used to be two separate miners cottages originally built in the 1860s. Now known as “Falls Cottage” since around 1939. It’s set on the bank of the River Taff in mature gardens with close access to the Taff Trail linking Brecon to Cardiff Bay and within walking distance to the train station. This is the perfect cottage to stay if wanting to visit bike park Wales, Zip World and to explore South Wales with its excellent A470 location. The space Falls Cottage is completely private and fully secure with all windows overlooking the river/mature gardens/mountains. All windows and doors face the private area and you will feel completely secluded in this tranquil spot though we are conveniently located on the lane that leads to the small village of Troedyrhiw. Bedrooms: Each bedroom has a view of the mountains and woodland. There are three gorgeous bedrooms with black out blinds and a convenient upstairs toilet. Bedroom 1: Double room Bedroom 2: Double room Bedroom 3: Twin room Kitchen and living space: A spiral staircase leads down into the spacious fully equipped kitchen. The separate dining and lounge space is open plan with a log burner and ample space to enjoy the views from the beautiful lounge window. We have a large wooden table that sits 6 guests and two 3x seater sofa’s. Bathroom: There is a large family bathroom downstairs with freestanding bath and double shower that leads onto the patio to access the path to the hot tub. Outside: The outdoor space has two large patios, a garage for bike storing with an area to wash down bikes. We have the added bonus of an outdoor hot water tap to help with washing bikes. Additionally a bbq area, sofa seating, a dining table and the luxury hot tub beside the woodland and river. Parking: There is a big private driveway for up to 3 vehicles. Train links from the nearby train station in Troedyrhiw can be found just a short 5 minute walk away. You can reach Cardiff via train in just 50 minutes. Bike park Wales can be reached in less that 10 minutes via car, we are located just off the same roundabout. Suggested places of interest: Merthyr- Cyfartha Castle 10 min drive. Also has a splash park and park for children, a miniature railway and lake to feed ducks. Penyfan - 20 mins. 2.5 hours to walk in total Garwnant waterfall walk 15 mins drive away. We also recommend Garwnant for families with forestry and play area. Penderyn Distillery - 20 min drive Big Pit Museum 30 min drive. Blaenavon Ironworks 25 min drive Brecon town- 30 min drive Talybont on Usk- canal boats 40 min drive Abergavenny town- 30min drive Sugar loaf mountain walk in Abergavenny ( 3-4 hour walk) Cardiff- 40 minute drive. Cardiff Castle, shops, restaurants, museum, Bute park. Great day out for all. Swansea town and nearby mumbles for sea air :) 55 min drive Adventures - Zip World Tower 30 min drive Caerphilly castle - 27 min drive St Fagans Welsh life museum- 40 min drive. Great family day out. National show caves and dinosaurs- 46 min drive. Great family day out. Brecon Mountain railway- 16 min drive. Good one for families. There are Taf trail walks immediately from the house too. One to Brecon and One to Cardiff We are of course very close to Bike Park and there is Trail to get there via the taf trail. This magical property has been renovated to a 5 star standard with tasteful modernisation throughout whilst retaining as many original features as possible. Falls Cottage boasts a Log burner, original ceiling beams, spiral staircase and a Hot tub that immerses you into the woodland. Our Cleaning fee includes the full maintenance and service of the hot tub which is carried out every stay. Please note the hot tub likely won’t be ready to use until 6pm on your arrival due to the maintenance and heating required Cleaning Fee Policy We kindly remind all guests that the cleaning fee you pay is designated to prepare the property for your stay. This includes linen hire, full hot tub maintenance and adhering to enhanced cleaning protocols to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and comfort for every guest. However, paying a cleaning fee does not eliminate the expectation that the property be left in a reasonably tidy condition upon checkout. Guests are required to follow the checkout procedures and maintain the property during their stay. To respect the property and future guests, we ask that you: Wipe down surfaces after cooking. Use the dishwasher for dishes. Dispose of waste in provided black bags. Basic cleaning materials are provided for your convenience to help you maintain cleanliness during your stay. While our properties are professionally cleaned between stays, any additional cleaning required due to neglect may result in extra charges being billed to the guest.
