Yellow Cottage on the Rio Grande River

Rejuvenate in the picturesque ambiance of our funky, cozy, little cottage on the river. From the back porch, you can enjoy the tranquil Rio Grande River and breathtaking views of the Turtle back mountain. Watch the abundant wildlife, wild birds, bats, fish, or seek peace. Elephant butte lake is 3 miles north. And 2 miles south is downtown TorC with 13 hot springs. NOTE: Like all rivers in New Mexico the rivers water flow runs low in the fall, winter & early spring. The space Cozy, Clean and Safe. Guest access Gate and house are on a lock box for easy entry. Other things to note ***Note*** PLEASE READ Hello, Air BnB Guests. We work hard to accommodate an enjoyable stay for all our guests. That said, WE FEEL WE SHOULD PROVIDE YOU THE “Pros And Cons” of our Yellow Cottage. *You need to know and understand that the original part of the house is a 1970s mobile home. The mobile home has a modern stick-built addition that makes it more spacious. We have remodeled the flooring, as well as the kitchen and bathroom. The bathroom has an original tub/shower, which has a 19-inch step-down. The kitchen has modern reclaimed cabinets and a new gas stove. *The house is very clean with modern appliances, bedding, linens, and amenities. *There are four stairs to climb from the den to the kitchen. *We need you to understand that the Rio Grande River DOES NOT flow full and fast all year. (This is typical of all rivers in New Mexico) From September to May the river flows low and slow. And from May through August the river is high and flows extremely fast. The house sits right on the river which is only 20 feet away from the back porch. (It is not safe for children and non-swimmers.) Also, whenever you are close to the river, it can be buggy sometimes. Please don’t leave windows and doors open in the summer months, or you will have many bugs in the house. *Truth or Consequences is a groovy little town with fun and lovely people. Most of the houses in TorC (probably 80%) are older Mobil homes. *The Yellow Cottage is located in a very SAFE and QUIET neighborhood. It is by no means the fancy HOA’s country club-like neighborhood. We are not trying to scare you off, we are only trying to ensure you understand what you can expect.
