Quiet Getaway on Trans Canada Trail!

Description

Welcome to this beautiful, charming and spacious retreat! The farm is set in the rolling hills of Northumberland County, just outside of the gorgeous village of Hastings, and bordering the Trans Canada Trail which follows the Trent River. You will leave your worries behind in this spacious and serene piece of paradise. The space Oak Valley Acres is set right in the middle of so much! Entertainment, fantastic restaurants, scenery, wildlife! It is so amazing to hear the loons on the Trent River calling to each other in the mornings. In the evenings the crickets are chirping and the frogs are croaking. There is a lovely picnic/cooking area, right outside the entrance to your guesthouse! It is a short walk down my private road to the Trans Canada Trail. The trail follows the river to Hastings in one direction and in the other direction it goes through fields and woods to Campbellford. From there you have easy access to trails in every direction. The Trent River is amazing to kayak. I have kayaked in both directions, it's so peaceful out on the water! There is an endless number of places to visit. All these places are in my guide book with pictures and descriptions. Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge Westben Arts Festival Theatre Empire Cheese Factory Sweetest bakery in Canada is Doohers Bakery The Chocolate Factory Church-Key Brewery and their cute Pub Visit the quaint village of Warkworth. And don't forget Hastings! Delicious restaurants, check Lock 18 out, wander through the unique stores, enjoy an ice cream cone at the park at Hastings Marina! There is so much more, it is an amazing community! Oh and in the winter check out the Polar Bear Festival! Guest access The guests are welcome to use the dining room, and they have the upstairs all for themselves. The upstairs has 1 bathroom, and 3 bedrooms. The first bedroom has a double bed. The second bedroom has 2 single beds. The third bedroom has 1 single bed and 2 comfy chairs, plus the TV, or it switches to 2 single beds, a rocking chair and the TV. . The guests have a porch with very comfortable furniture to enjoy. They may use the front yard which is huge and I do have a gazebo which I am happy to erect if the guests would like. From their front door they have access to my private road which leads to the Trans Canada Trail. There is a public launch for boats in Hastings. There are two horses here that love to be petted and although my dogs and cats are not allowed in the section that is the guest house they do love to be petted if the guests would like to visit with them! Other things to note I love the tranquility of this farm. The farm is close to several small towns, Hastings, Campbellford, Warkworth and Peterborough, but when I sit here it is like I'm in the middle of paradise. You can hear wildlife all around you. Occasionally the deer stroll through the fields, loons call out to each other, the stars are so bright at night, and the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets are breath taking!
