Airport transfers and car rentals can be arranged upon request. 🐾 Other things to note The owner lives on-site in a separate apartment with her quiet dogs. She respects your privacy but is available if you need assistance. The Cenote is a natural water pool that is ever-changing. With the rain the water becomes cloudy and not clear so less inviting to swim in. The cover photo for this listing was taken when the cenote was looking as it's best and had just been cleaned with machinery. Factors like time of year, sun, rain, water levels and circulation cause changes in the color of the water so sometimes the water is more inviting than others. Please take this in to consideration when making your booking. There is a trail around the property for walks. Some kind of trainer or closed shoe is recommended for this trail walk. Its a private trail within the property perimeter wall that takes you on a windy path to the Koi Fish pond. Transport from the airport and car rental can be prearranged for you with sufficient advance notice and have an additional cost. Puerto Aventuras is 3 minutes by car. Nearest Beach, 3 minutes by car. Nearest Restaurants, 3 minutes by car. Nearest Super Market, 5 minutes by car. Playa del Carmen is 20 minutes by car. Tulum is 25 minutes by car. Cancun (airport) is 60 minutes by car. IT IS SUPER HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU HAVE A RENTAL CAR. THERE ARE NO SHOPS OR RESTAURANTS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE. Guest access Guests have full access to the property. You will be given a push button key that opens the electric gate to allows you to come and go as you please. (If the gate key is lost, guests must pay $2000 pesos for a replacement gate control.) Other things to note Toh Ha Spa, where does the name come from? TOH is the Mayan name for a specific bird also know as turquoise-browed motmot (Eumomota superciliosa).These magestic birds nests in rocks and crevices in cenotes and caves and up to 5 pairs nest here in the property during March to June each year. Up to 10 Toh swoop in and out of the cave all day long, both males and females bringing insects and fruits to their young during this time. It’s a bird watchers paradise! HA is the Mayan word for water, referring to the cenote. Our rivers on the Yucatán peninsular, run underground in caves and when there is an opening where the water is visible it’s called a cenote. SPA refers to the excellent Spa services such as massages, facials and spa treatments by Chahat who is our in-house beauty therapist. Chahat provides her services during your stay here at Toh Ha Spa. The spa menu will be provided before you arrive so you can prebook any treatments. The serenity of our beautiful surroundings is unique. But... the jungle isn't for everyone so if you don't like to see critters maybe TOH HA SPA is not for you. If you are ok seeing the odd gecko, spider or ant then this is the space for you to relax and enjoy your stay. The natural noises you might hear are a serenade of many different species of birds as well as frogs and crickets. Sometimes you do hear a little noise from the highway traffic now and again.
