Guest home is close to town yet surrounded by the beauty of the farm fields. We welcome all, friends & families with children. We can have children’s spaces available to set up for them to enjoy as well. The home is yours privately. However, we are located in different home on property to tend the farm and accommodate guests. We do our best to give our guests either the privacy of a getaway, or If you so desire, we love to answer questions about farming as we know it and share in the story of our country's history through items in our home or hear about guest's state or country of origin. During your stay you may get to meet Midnight, our donkey, Smokey our barn cat, or see some cute baby calves in the field. We have rabbits as well that can be introduced. If you enjoy the outdoors. walk the large property and look out over some of the farm as it completely surrounds the house. We do ask that no one go in barns or climb on equipment. We have a few outdoor activities as weather permits. Farm tour upon request based upon a farm donation of your choosing. Hike-Please let us communicate about the property before taking a hike. There are cattle in some of the fields and depending on calving season Momma cows may be a bit particular about who or what’s in the field. We have an outdoor area for a fireside chat in good weather. The front porch with 2 swings, a large yard and beautiful views are for your private enjoyment. You can also enjoy swinging in our tree swing. There are several parking spaces by the garage, gravel parking in other areas. There is also room for paid RV, trailer or boat parking which has easy access through the circle drive. The guest home is yours privately. Our interactions with guests are determined by what the guests choose. Let us know if you want a farm tour or us to make ourselves scarce. My husband and I work our farm full time and care for the animals. We don't mind either giving our guests space or interacting. We are probably seen walking to and from barns and taking care of animals periodically. Our home is also located on the farm. We are readily available to answer questions, make recommendations for local restaurants and entertainment or assist with any other needs our guests may have. If you so desire, we love to share the property history and explain unique details about the home history as well as our knowledge of life on the farm. We enjoy entertaining guests. All ages are welcome. Whether you're on vacation, stopping between destinations or on a business trip we hope to give our guests a private relaxing atmosphere to experience the beauty that farm life holds as well as give the needed relaxation a vacation home can give. Our desire is to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We look forward to having you as our guest. Our farm surrounds the home and is only a couple minutes from downtown Winchester. Our community is located in between some of the world’s most amazing natural beauty in Kentucky in the Red River Gorge, and the finer things in city life in Lexington. We also have several local attractions. We have a car rental service not far from our home approximately 9miles . Enterprise Car rental. There are also local taxi services. We are also 20 to 25 minutes from Lexington which has access to several services. 1. We know of some great places for family pets to stay if they need to travel with you. Ask us for details. Arrangements must me made prior to stay and drop off should take place before checking in. 2. We have working cattle dogs on the property. They may bark on arrival. However, they are not heard overnight in the main house and are kept in their large working barn when guests are here. They are a one family bread very protective and not in contact with other people. They can be introduced on a leash. However, they are choosey and don’t take to everyone. *** We walk them on a leash during the day. They also sometimes run in a large section of the barn during the day. Please be respectful of posted signs and communicate so we can arrange our farm schedule to meet guests needs. 3. We use zipped mattress protectors in conjunction with washable fitted mattress protectors along with antimicrobial sheets to help our guests enjoy a more sanitary and comfortable night's sleep. 4. Our ice maker is not working. However, we have individually packed ice for guests if needed. 5. Our kitchen sink drains slowly sometimes. Please discard all food in the trash can.
