This newly renovated 2 level holiday apartment with double bed and quality sleeping couch is located in the idyllic foothills of the Alps, at 1000 mtrs above sea level. Our breeding farm includes alpacas, dairy cows, pigs, bees, goats, chickens, cats and our child-friendly dog. We offer a special holiday experience where you have the opportunity to meet all the farm animals and their offspring up close. During your holiday you have the exceptional opportunity to test our alpaca bedding. The space Kitchen The solid wood kitchen with milk glass front and granite surfacing is not just a purposeful cooking area but a real highlight. The kitchen equipped with all cooking attire and has a large cupboard for storing groceries. The extendable table which can seat up to 6 and the comfortable cushioned chairs provides versatility by allowing extra guests at meals or extra room to work. The kitchen window provides a wonderful view of the rolling hills which makes cooking more a pleasure than a chore. Terrace On the 16M2 terrace with a view of the Neckertal you can enjoy the sunset with the serenity of the alpacas and see the working life on the farm during the day. The Terrace door from within the kitchen gives ease of access to enjoy your meal under the stars on an alpaca fur seat cover. Living room The comfortable sofa provides versatility as a relaxation zone or a spacious permanent sleep sofa bed. The living room is equipped with a large screen TV and also fiber optic WiFi for those looking for some evening entertainment. Bedroom The combination of the unique inclined solid wooden bed with natural surface treatment and the natural materials of the Samina bed system makes sleeping an experience. Sleeping on an incline helps with circulation problems, sleep apnea, snoring, acid reflux, multiple sclerosis, and back problems. And for extra guests the spacious long-term sofa bed ensures a restful sleep. With the exclusive furnishings of pure alpaca sleeping attire, including alpaca mattress toppers, alpaca duvets and alpaca pillows, as well as the alpaca furs, you will experience the true pleasure of our alpaca products, which you can also purchase in our Alpaka Appenzell farm shop. For infants we can offer 2 travel cots upon request. And for a child who wishes to sleep in the same room as their parents, rather than on the sofa bed we offer one high quality fold out guest bed. Bathroom The modern bathroom is the perfect oasis for some time-out. The bathtub provides comfort and relaxation thanks to the innovative sloping backrest just like a deck chair. And the shower's additional rain-shower function envelops the entire body in a jet of warm water. Other things to note Our traditional Toggenburger house was built in the 16th century and the farm is now in its fourth generation of family ownership. The touch of the exotic extends beyond our alpacas to the mix of cultures we represent—Swiss, Australian, and Japanese. This diversity allows us to offer our international guests helpful local travel suggestions in fluent German and English, and—with the help of our stepmother—also in Japanese. Please note: Due to our secluded location in the foothills of the Alps, our property is not easily accessible by public transport. We are situated 2 km up a hill from the nearest bus stop on the main road, and buses only run once an hour, stopping around 22:00. The nearest train stations are in Herisau or Brunnadern, from which you must take a bus to reach us. There are no taxi services nearby—the closest is in Herisau, about 20 minutes away. For this reason, we strongly recommend arriving by car, as staying here without one can be quite inconvenient.
