Nestled in a haven of calm, La Prévôté is a listed property in Lyon, whose elegant silhouette flanked by four towers, sits in the heart of Ile Barbe. From its open galleries, you can contemplate the waves of the Saône and the garden of the former monastic refectory. As you enter its vestibule with thick stone walls, you discover a pool. A spiral staircase leads to the bedrooms; its blown glass windows diffuse a soft light, giving the place a unique atmosphere. The space This ancient stone house has retained its original appearance. Stone or marble floors, spiral staircases, oak floors, beams and fireplaces in each room make you relive the past. Furnished with an eighteenth century vanity/ desk, decorated with a Aubusson tapestry, the room contains quality bedding and adjoins a separate bathroom with bath, shower and toilets. On this island surrounded by water, directly on the site to discover traboules and visit monuments classified to the heritage of Unesco, and taste its famous gastronomy (with its restaurants "the corks of Lyon" and its great chefs (5 minutes from the island is the restaurant of Mr Paul BOCUSE), this destination caters to all tastes and budgets... You will be charmed by our old capital of Gaulle (ancient France) located between two connected rivers, the Rhone and the Saône. Its opera house, renovated by J.NOUVEL, its museums (Beaux-Arts, Gadagne, Tissu, Miniature, Marionnette, Imprimerie, Confluences, Institut Lumière, Maison de Canuts, Centre d'Histoire de la Résistance et de la Déportation, Maison where Jean MOULIN (a man of resistance) ) are proud of each season of attraction they perform and will remain remembered. Guest access After having easily parked your vehicle on the island, near the property, or having arrived on foot, by bus or taxi, you will climb the four steps of a rounded porch. A fresh and large entrance, open to the garden, welcomes you. Then climbing the steps of a spiral staircase, taking a look at each window, you will reach the wide open gallery of the 2nd floor from where it will be good to breathe the garden of the old refectory and to contemplate the quiet waves and the masures of the Island. Then you will gain a peaceful room. From its bathroom with double orientation and separate, you will see squirrels in the cedars. Weather permitting, a garden surrounded by lilacs and wisteria, in the shade of a huge pine tree, contains a four-chair table and a wrought iron bench, where they can welcome you for breakfast, dinner in the open air, or a moment of relaxation. BIKES: If you wish to borrow some of our bikes (1-3), we make them available to you for an extra €15 per day. Mention it at the time of booking. OUTDOOR DINING: The order of a "machon lyonnais" (products from local gastronomy) should be considered at least two days before your arrival. Allow an extra €25 per person. SWIMMING POOL: The schedule for its use is strictly determined in advance: if you have a child, they are under your full responsibility. PRECAUTIONS: Instructions for properly closing the front door will be issued upon arrival. The blown glass windows deserve special attention when climbing the stairs so as not to be damaged with your luggage.
