Restored in 2022, the Istrian holiday home is idyllically located in the mountain village of Bregi at the foot of the nature park of the Ucka mountain massif - about 3 km above the Croatian coastal town of Opatija. In addition to the picturesque village idyll, the house with its 1,750 sqm plot and its natural stone terraces (60 sqm), offers a pool (10 x 5 m) and a breathtaking sea view. "Kanfanar" stone terraces are sustainable and from Istria – in summer it is pleasantly cool to walk barefoot. "Silver" and "Emerald" share the "Marble" bathroom. Modern bathroom with rain shower, Alessi sink with waterfall fittings and ground-level shower access. Hygienic, rimless toilets in all bathrooms. Bedroom 4: Bedroom "Champagne" with en-suite bathroom, upper floor, the largest double room in the villa, about 30 sqm, with its own en-suite bathroom under the roof. For 2 plus 1 person or 2 adults or 2 toddlers King size bed 1.80 x 2.10 m plus sofa bed 1.20 x 2.00 m. En-suite bathroom with black fittings, original antique oak vanity with natural stone sink and infinity mirror. In addition to the master king-size bed, there is a comfortable sleeping couch for friends or children. Bedroom 5: Bedroom "Sea-View", upper floor, for 2 plus 1 person or for 2 adults or 2 toddlers with really spectacular sea views, 22 sqm, queen size bed 1.60 x 2.10 m plus sofa bed 1.20 x 2.00 m, 2 windows, dresser, clothes rack. The "Sea-View" has its own modern bathroom in the hallway with a rain shower, Alessi sink with waterfall fittings and ground-level shower access including a hygienic, rimless toilet. Please note: we do not have a living room in the traditional sense. TVs are in every room with Netflix, but no other TV program. Bamboo groves and palm trees in the garden Bamboo – The natural material from which our duvets in the rooms are made, among other things. For sustainability reasons and to protect our environment, the air conditioning can also be omitted. Instead, the house is air-conditioned with specially mirrored door and window glass. By cooling air supply from the shadow side – i.e. from the mountain side. In the morning with the pleasantly light wind breezes from the mountain side and in the afternoon from the lake side. Last but not least, there is still a jump into the cooling water. For crazy hot days, floor fans are also available. Guest access Free access to the entire use of the summer villa ground floor and upper floor, free access to the private pool and free access to the garden. Other things to note Opatija – "The Beautiful" on the Croatian Riviera Opatija is a Croatian coastal town on the Adriatic Sea – formerly also called "Abbazia" in Italian. The city was once a popular spa town and sophisticated seaside resort (19th century) and especially appreciated by the Viennese nobility. Opatija therefore has many villas from the Habsburg era. The statue of the "Virgin with the Seagull" is not only the symbol of Opatija, but of the entire Kvarner region. It stands elegantly on a rock in front of the waterfront promenade and makes all guests curious about its interesting history and identity. Lungomare – Where Emperor Franz-Josef strolled with his Sissi Lungomare is a 12 km long historic coastal promenade overlooking the sea and the cities of Opatija and Rijeka as well as the neighboring islands. The Lungomare passes by dream villas, park-like gardens, historical monuments and churches, 5-star hotels, cafes, restaurants, konobas that invite you to linger, as well as luxurious marinas and small fishing ports. Swimming coves and bathing facilities every 50 m to refresh yourself in the sea; dog bathing coves are signposted. Distance to Opatija, sea, beach 2.9 km. Small romantic fishing ports in Volosko and Lovran with beautiful fish restaurants Lovran – Our favorite town on the coastal road, about 12 km away with an idyllic small fishing port, restaurants and the best ice cream parlor on the coastal strip - delicious, in our opinion. Coastal town of Ika on the Lungomare Wonderful atmosphere in Ika Bay overlooking the opposite mainland and Rijeka. We particularly like and enjoy the following here: - "Romero" in Opatija – breakfast, pizza, bread, cake to go - Restaurant "Ruzmarin" in the city of Opatija with a small smoking lounge - Cafe "Wagner", coffee/chocolate specialties right on the waterfront under palm trees - "Konoba Ribarnica", fish and seafood urban on the only navigable street in the beloved fishing district of Volosko - Restaurant "Plavi podrum" creative Mediterranean cuisine at the port of Volosko - Trattoria "Mandrac", Istrian cuisine and gin at the Volosko harbor - Restaurant "Kinkela" near Iris, within 15 minutes' walk of the summer house with stunning sea views and traditional Croatian cuisine in Bregi - "Kanoba Ribica", fish and seafood at the old football stadium in Rijeka - Restaurant "Kvarner" – Fish & Grill in the fishing port of Lovran - Ice cream parlor Lovran – creative ice cream partly without sugar/flavors - unfortunately expensive Original Croatia cooking on the island of Krk An exploration and excursion to the island of Krk with original Croatian cooking class can be booked directly with Marija. Travel time: 35 min one way Activities around “SyVilla – SeaView” In addition to relaxing, pool & more, Opatija and the surrounding area offer many opportunities to do a wide variety of activities: Swimming in the sea, snorkeling, diving, stand-up paddling, windsurfing, kayaking, beach volleyball, going to the secluded bay by rented boat or water taxi and viewing the coast from the water. Mountain biking in the Ucka Mountains, paragliding, mountain hiking, … or visit Istrian wineries/distilleries and taste local wines. Explore historical buildings, towns and villages, visit casinos/theaters, shopping, ... or go to Trieste for ice cream. Rijeka – The commercial port city by the sea In just 15 minutes along the "old" connecting road along the sea you are in Rijeka - Spectacular stadium directly on the sea - Traditional and historical fish and market hall at the harbor - Ocean yachts and ferry services to various islands Bregi The mountain village of Bregi has approx. 700 inhabitants and belongs to the municipality of Matulji, where shops, bank, cafe, post office, etc. can be found. By car (7 min), by bus (15 min) or on foot (40 min) you can reach the city of Opatija. Bregi is located on the mountain and therefore has wonderful views from different levels.
