Escaping the stresses of modern life is easy here. Refreshingly, there isn’t a TV or WiFi, the perfect opportunity for a total digital detox and to relish the therapeutic benefits of nature in your own private woodland hideaway. There are lots of little luxuries, plus a snug indoor sitting area and an outdoor decked area with a wood-fired hot tub and fire pit where you can spend evenings stargazing in the clear Exmoor sky. This shepherd’s hut has an open-plan space that incorporates the lounge, kitchen, dining and sleeping area, all tastefully decorated in an elegant, rustic style. The lounge area has two comfortable armchairs and a coffee table and is the ideal place to snuggle up in front of the wood burner. There is no TV or WiFi at this property, but that just makes it all the more appealing to anyone who wants to completely switch off for a while. Meanwhile, the kitchen is well equipped with a mini gas oven and three-ring gas hob, plus a small fridge, ample amenities for chilling those drinks and cooking simple meals. The sleeping area features a king-size bed (with space to walk around it) and is a welcoming place to take the weight off your feet and enjoy the fabulous views through the window. There is also a modern wet room with a large shower cubicle, a wash basin and a WC. Outside there’s a large, decked area with a picnic bench and sun loungers, as well as a wood-fired hot tub and a fire pit. It’s the perfect secluded spot to totally unwind and enjoy the sounds of nature. There’s also a log store where you can take logs for the wood burner, fire pit and wood-fired hot tub. Guest access There is a key safe where you can access the key to the property for a self-check-in. Other things to note Phone signal may be limited depending upon the provider. The power supply is only 12 volts. Check-in: from 16:00 Check-out: by 10:00 Hot tub: As the hot tub is emptied, cleaned, and refilled after each booking, we cannot guarantee that your hot tub will be at its optimal operating temperature upon arrival. Please note, wood-fired hot tubs take between 3-4 hours to heat initially. Deposit: Bookings are subject to a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the booking value plus applicable booking fees with the balance payable 70 days before the date of travel. Accidental Damage Deposit: To maintain the highest standards in our properties, guests will need to pay a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £200 prior to their stay. An advance payment as detailed in the booking summary can be made to waive this requirement. Sustainability Solar panels are used to generate electric and hot water for the hut.
