The family lodge is now available to rent for select periods. Far from busy roads and right next to the sea, there is nothing but peaceful tranquility here. Take walks, go swimming on your own coastline and bbq until your heart's content. The house was built in 2020. You have all the modern compliments you could need in a cabin on an island only accessible by (free) ferry. Wifi powered by fibre that was installed, espresso machine, TV (connect your netflix), washer/dryer, etc. The space The house is 136m² with a large open living area and kitchen with open fireplace. Just off of the living area is a small private room with TV for watching movies and snuggling on the couch. The three bedrooms are well removed from the living area benefiting from privacy and reduced noise. There is also a full washer and dryer set in a utility closet. In the summer, the outdoors and indoors blend together and there is a deck/balcony with seating that wraps 3 sides of the house. About the bed accommodations: - The master bedroom has the largest bed - 180cm wide (Queen size). - The Study has a lofted bed - 110cm wide (accessible by wooden ladder) and a small bed for children age 6 and under. - The third room has bunk beds withe bottom bunk - 130cm wide and top bunk 90cm wide. While the bottom is fine for adults, the top is recommended for children. Guest access Guests have complete access and privacy in this house. Other things to note GETTING HERE Getting here is easy. There are (free) car ferries running nearly every 30min from the centuries old fishing village of Öregrund. In the summer you will find some fantastic restaurants lining the water here. Drive to the ferry takes about 1hr 45min from Stockholm (30min less from Arlanda Airport). The ferry takes 5min and the drive on the island takes another 7min. DRINKING WATER The water is supplied by our ground well. It is perfectly drinkable but the quality varies year round. Some prefer not to drink it. Feel free to bring your own bottles of water for drinking if you prefer. There is a grocery (ICA) on the island. You can access the sea directly from our property. As typical of the Stockholm archipelago, the coast line is mostly smooth rock where you can lay and bathe. The light in the summer can be quite extreme. There are no curtains so if you are sensitive, perhaps bring eye shades.
