Our pet-friendly, peaceful pit stop is perfect for those traveling the Mother Road, heading to Missouri wine country, or exploring St. Louis area attractions like Purina Farms, Meramec Caverns and much more. This newly remodeled, rural retreat has all the amenities you need for a good night’s rest during a road trip or to spend a few days and relax. There is both indoor and outdoor space to enjoy, including a fenced in yard for pets. OUTSIDE The guesthouse is part of a 25 acre heavily wooded property with owners on site in another house on the property. The guesthouse is surrounded by trees and secluded, yet has easy access to I-44 and is 5 minutes away from groceries, gas and local restaurants. The house is near the highway and you may hear traffic noise. The main house is surrounded by a fence that contains 2 Great Pyrenees. While the dogs are not left outside unattended while guests are at the house, guests may hear barking from time to time. There is a picnic table, umbrella and gas bbq grill for guests to use. There is a fenced in yard for guests with pets on the side of the guesthouse. You will need to go out the front door and walk your pup about 20 steps to enter the fenced in yard. INSIDE The guesthouse was remodeled in 2022 with new living and bedroom furniture, kitchen appliances, bathroom shower, vanity, ceiling fans and more. The heat/air conditioning was updated in September 23 with a mini split ductless system. There is wifi for streaming apps on your phone or the tv in the living area but no traditional cable tv. The living area has a loveseat and chair. The kitchenette has a refrigerator, microwave, airfryer/toaster oven and a coffee bar as well as a stackable washer & dryer. The bedroom has a closet for hanging clothes if needed. The guesthouse is attached to a garage but guests DO NOT have access to the garage. There is plenty of outside parking for guests. The white door with the keypad on the right side of the garage door is where guests enter the guesthouse. Guests do have access to the fenced in yard on the side of the house. Note, the doors to the guesthouse do not open out into the fenced in yard, you will have to walk your pup about 20 steps away from the front door to enter the fenced in yard. Please message us through the app if you need assistance. The guesthouse sits about 40 minutes west of Downtown St. Louis along I-44. The Meramec and Bourbeuse Rivers are nearby for boating, kayaking or floating. The guesthouse is approximately 1 minute from Birch Creek Golf Course and 5 minutes from Veterans Memorial Park in the city of Union which has several playgrounds and a splash pad for kids. The guesthouse is just 5 minutes from fast amenities like Walmart, DQ, Arby's, Burger King as well as several locally owned restaurants and a local coffee truck, Exit 11 Coffee Drive-Thru. The guesthouse is just 15 miles from the historic downtown Washington, Mo riverfront district with several restaurants, wine bars, a microbrewery and an Amtrak station facing the Missouri River. Due to the rural setting, you may encounter wildlife such as deer, armadillos, possums, raccoons, foxes, skunks, rabbits or squirrels outside. You may also come across a spider or mouse. PET OWNERS 1. For several reasons, please keep your pets on a leash at all times: (unless they are in the fenced in yard). - We don't want your pet to have any wildlife encounter - The guesthouse is VERY close to I-44 with cars driving 70+mph - Great Pyrenees' from a neighboring farm will come by for a visit from time to time 2.
