During the day you see the amazing clear emerald sea and blue skies and your sunsets from your view on the deck are spectacular. And you're right next to one of the best white sandy beaches in the area Pig Beach. Imagine the memories you can create with family and friends in your personal ocean front resort-like home. This is one of the most beautiful and relaxing places in the world. Everything to make you feel at home and experience the ocean life plenty of towels, books, games, DVDs, full kitchen are on hand. Here, you're close to great dining, shopping, sightseeing, and exploring (cenotes and Mayan ruins!) but still away from the overcrowded touristy, hustle and bustle areas of Mexico which allows you to truly relax or have personal time with family and friends. The area around Chateau Chelem is quiet and relaxed, and the beachfront house offers a great deal of privacy and security. We are only 20 minutes to Merida the main city in Yucatan with its international airport and amazing cultural museums and city beauty. We ask our guests to be flexible with the local customs (ex: the electrical company- the CFE- powers local power down every Sunday morning for a system reset {we have a generator on site, along with satellite internet for reliability and up/download speed!}. Local storms are not often or common, but can occur and blow debris onto power lines and knock power out for a while too as in any area in the tropics.) Our home provides the best of both worlds as it is a great oceanfront home to enjoy the tranquility and views but close enough to local archaeological attractions and the city life of Merida. Due to our remote location and developing infrastructure within the area, there may occasionally be power outages and with that affects the internet and water supply, but don't worry the service is usually restored quickly. During the winter period (November to February) we have some storms that depending on its intensity sometimes brings sargazo and garbage to our beaches, this circumstance is foreign to our control however we will try to keep the beach garbage free upon your arrival and during your stay, while the sargassum is normally dragged at the next tide.
