The Docent’s Collection is within walking distance to Portland’s top cuisine, craft breweries, vibrant entertainment, art galleries, and local culture. When staying in this loft, the elevator lands directly in the space, and you will have the entire floor. This loft features: • One full bathroom with an accessible roll-in shower. • One primary bedroom with a private ensuite bathroom. • Two additional bedrooms. • All bedding is king-sized. This private loft is in the historic Abraham Robinson Block – guests will only have access to the building’s lobby and their loft. Our guided check-in process is 100% mobile, and you will receive this guided check-in to complete two evenings before your arrival. With our guided check-in, you can access paid parking and share your digital key with your other guests. Accessing your space is easy using the digital key, powered by FLEXIPASS. Before your arrival, please download the FLEXIPASS app on your mobile device. We will send the digital key code for the app as soon as your loft has been prepared for your arrival. Every guest will need their own FLEXIPASS code, and you can provide details for your guests within our guided check-in. We cannot guarantee early arrival for guests, but please let us know what time you plan to arrive in Portland to help coordinate the cleaning schedule. We allow guests to check in as soon as their loft is available, even before the stated check-in time of 5 p.m. If you arrive before your loft is ready, our local hospitality team is happy to take in your luggage, help you find the best place for lunch or an afternoon beverage, and text you as soon as your loft is prepared. The local hospitality team is delighted to assist you in personalizing your stay via text or message from 7 AM to 11 PM, before and after your visit. We are also delighted to welcome you in person if an arrival time is provided, give you a tour of your loft and its features, and help you find the perfect restaurant for dinner. The answers to most questions can be found within the listing and your digital welcome compendium. To reach someone after 11 PM while on the property, please call the phone number provided in your confirmation and leave a message. If you have an emergency, please close this app and dial 911. Portland's downtown Old Port district is the epicenter of the Maine experience. During your visit enjoy great food, fresh air, and beautiful scenery. This walkable area of the city is home to 150+ award-winning restaurants and chefs – with some of the freshest seafood and lobster in the world there is no better place for foodies to call home. The working waterfront has a charm of its own – you’ll find brightly colored lobster traps stacked along family-owned wharves and salty lobstermen pulling in their daily hauls. Just make sure to get a lobster dish at least once while you’re here. Besides a great dining experience, Maine is home to over 140 micro-breweries. Some of the cleanest snowpacks melt into the freshwater supply of the Casco Bay area, giving breweries a "blank" slate to work with. It’s why we’re known for producing some of the haziest and juiciest IPAs in the world. Here’s a fun fact: did you know prohibition started in the State of Maine? This happened an entire year prior to the federal laws going into effect. Along the historic cobblestone streets, you’ll find beautiful hand-crafted cocktails and small bites at one of Portland's various lounges. Nestled between eclectic food and drinks, locally-owned shops sell artisan gifts, clothing, jewelry, specialty food products, and artwork. The perfect Maine-made souvenir is mere blocks away. Outdoor lovers can break out of the city and enjoy winding hiking trails into the mountains. Portland's the perfect basecamp for any of these socially distanced activities: ski/snowboard adventure, bird watching, bicycling, hiking, and camping. Off the working waterfront, charter a boat out of the marina for a day on the water and a visit to one of the 365+ islands of Casco Bay. If you haven’t figured it out by now, there is truly too much to cover. Let us know your interests and we’d be happy to pinpoint you to some of our favorite local recommendations. Portland is a walkable city. It’s easy to get around the Old Port. The harbor and other main attractions are within walking distance of your residence. Should the need arise, Uber/Lyft/Taxis are available almost anywhere in the area at a reasonable rate ($7-$20). Arrive in Portland via a number of transportation options. Fly in via the Portland Jetport (5 miles away/$18 ride) or take the Amtrak or Concord Bus Line to the Portland Transportation Center (2.5 miles away/$9 ride). The Docent's Collection has secured a limited number of parking spaces guests may purchase for their visit ($50 per night). Parking may only be confirmed after a booking has been created. If a parking space is not available on-property, we are delighted to provide recommendations for nearby garages. ** Please note that due to nearby construction, on-property parking is not available beginning 02/25/2024 through 06/30/2024. Guests are encouraged to park at the Cumberland County Garage, adjacent to the building. ** Your loft is located within a nationally recognized historic building. Limited on-site parking is available for $60 per night. You will receive a guided check-in a few nights before your arrival, and you may request parking then. If the on-property parking is full, various garage options are available steps away from your loft. Guests staying in this unit for five or more consecutive nights may opt-in to weekly cleaning services at no additional cost. The local hospitality team can assist you with requests for additional amenities or refuse removal anytime during your stay. The all-in-one washer and dryer unit is an excellent amenity for ensuring you always look your best. Be sure to set the dry setting before starting the cycle; please allow the cycle to complete fully. We recommend the normal cycle for most laundered items. The towels and linens provided are professionally laundered and pressed off-site.
