Situated on a quaint hill in a village called Sirori, Uttarakhand, which is 13 km, before the lake district of India, Nainital. The place can be easily accessed by any car. A space for curious, environmentally minded and adventurous travellers looking to awaken their creative spirits and meet like-minded people. The space We are the only dwellers of this village surrounded by untouched forests, an abundance of wildflowers and wildlife. An 80-year-old house built in stone and wood by Kumaoni farmers, rebuilt and designed as a homestay/artist retreat by a musician and event curator. The idea for us was to leave Delhi for a quieter life in the hills. At Roohaniyat, you wake up to the sounds of birds humming with a fresh morning breeze. The area is blessed with an incredible diversity of birds, it is home to about 600+ species of birds that are found in India. It is a popular destination for birders from all over the world. Being art lovers, we have added different kinds of art in all corners of the house, varying from tribal art to some old Indian instruments to old photographs and paintings, there is quite a bit you can lay your eyes on. ACCOMMODATION - On the ground floor, we have a double bedroom suite with a private washroom with all the facilities for a comfortable stay. The room can sleep 4 people comfortably on two double beds. MEALS - Breakfast & morning tea is included in the price for booked guests unless otherwise mentioned. We provide simple yet nutritious vegetarian home-cooked meals. We use seasonal farm-fresh and locally available ingredients as much as possible. Most of the vegetables are sourced from our or neighbouring farms when available. The food is cooked in our fully equipped kitchen as per a fixed menu and will be served in the indoor/outdoor dining area as per your preference. *Please note that we have a fixed food menu and a la carte ordering is not available. Vegetarian meals(Lunch and Dinner) can be served at an additional cost of 400 INR per person per meal. Non-Vegetarian meals can be served at an additional cost of 550 INR upon prior booking. This will include a mutton/chicken dish (depending on availability). Fun things in and around the house: - For all the readers & writers out there, we have made a small reading area on the first floor and just when you walk out of your room, you’d find books and a seating area overlooking the mountains and all the greens. - We have an outside patio that overlooks the Jungles of Corbett and needless to say beautiful sunsets, where you can spread out and relax on an easy chair, meanwhile sipping on your cup of tea or coffee as you like, could be a beer as well. - We’ve also set up a small dining area on our patio, so if you want to eat outdoors enjoying the sun and the valley views nothing like it! - Our living room is a separate building from the house, adjacent to it, it’s nice and cosy as we like it that way. There’s a fireplace in the living room so if you’re feeling cold, just ask us and we’d throw in some wood. - Also, we have set up a board game cupboard, you’re free to get your favourite one out and enjoy it with your pals just don’t misplace anything, and put them back to where they belong when you’re done. -We have our personal Bar Cabinet in the living room, you can get the glasses you need if you’re consuming liquor, just don’t consume ours. Haha! -A recent addition to the house is our new sun deck which is a perfect spot for sunbathing and reading. We also provide multiple experiences around the house like picnics, camping, trekking, day lunches, and small get-togethers. The idea is to make everyone feel comfortable and let them take away the experience of being one with nature, which is the soul and vibe of this very space. We love to help our guests with all the information needed and create a warm cosy space for them and at the same time let them have their privacy. And that’s about it. HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON! During your stay We reside on the property and are more than happy to offer help and assistance to our guests for a comfortable stay. Other things to note Other things to note : * This cottage is almost in the jungle in a rural setting. Therefore, the guests are requested to be mindful of ecological considerations and local sensibilities. *We have two friendly dogs at the property who are like our kids and they're mostly open and are good company. * This property is ideal for long stays.
