Podi Gedera, is a tropical paradise, ideal for a couple or single traveller located on the Gold Coast of Sri Lanka. Situated right on the famous Talpe beach and overlooking the famous rock pools - the location differs from most in that the reef forms an natural ‘swimming pool’ which allows safe swimming over the majority of the year. (All pictures are from the actual house and beach) The space Podi Gedura means little house in Sinhalese which describes our place very well. The smart lay out when shared by a couple or a single globetrotter gives a feeling of having everything you need in a holiday house, especially as it is located directly in front of the palm tree lined sea. From this perfect location the private outdoor patio allows you to watch life go by against the back ground of the beautiful Indian Ocean. A proper kitchen with a big stove, oven, fridge freezer, cooking utensils and crockery will allow you full independence if required. If you don’t fancy cooking delicious street food is available from Bertie’s 2 min walk from the front door - far enough not to bother you but close enough for a quick supply of hoppers, string hoppers and simple curry. (If needed we can also arrange Sri Lankan food to be delivered cooked right to your door as well). The living room is well equipped with table and chairs for dealing with socials and emails which always need attention and should you want the air con to cool it further, leave the bedroom door slightly open and voila the apartment cools down quickly. The whole flat has the fastest WiFi possible in Sri Lanka as well. Guest access Guests have full access to the whole of the sea facing bottom apartment and all of the garden. Podi Gedara is one of a kind. It is rare to find a place where you can watch an azure blue kingfisher perched on a bough only two meters from the window, or a shoal of fish less than a metre away. The Podi Gedara kitchen shutters open directly onto this scene and the large adjoining stone paved terrace provides you with the perfect setting where you can watch these wonderful events.or alternatively take a more active role and swim in the sea itself. Other things to note If you do not enjoy cooking etc or simply need a holiday. Breakfast/lunch/dinners can be arranged. Should want to create a surprise for a loved one.
