The use of natural, recyclable, reusable materials and the reduction of industrial materials as much as possible are a fundamental part of the concept of a "bioconstructed" house. We understand the importance of living in sustainable homes that are friendly to the environment and people. A "raw earth" house, in this case Quincha Mejorada, reduces the environmental impact both in carbon footprint and that generated by the industrialized production of materials typical of conventional construction such as concrete, baked brick, etc. Applying bioclimatic design, we managed to reduce the emission of polluting gases, the excessive use of non-renewable resources and improve energy efficiency by taking advantage of the largest source of energy we have, which is the sun, making the house work naturally. Some examples: In hot weather, heat accumulates in the walls, but does not pass through them and through the use of cross ventilation or passive systems, the rooms are kept cool without the need for refrigeration equipment, or its use will be minimal depending on the climatic characteristics of each region. In cold weather, on the other hand, this accumulation of heat in walls contributes to generating temperate environments and therefore the considerable reduction in the use of heating equipment. Its hygroscopic capacity (water vapor transmission) provides greater thermal comfort and adequate indoor humidity for people's health. Its thermal transmittance values (the time it takes for heat to pass through the walls) are the lowest compared to other construction systems, thus obtaining greater indoor temperature stability, which translates into greater thermal comfort and energy efficiency. The same applies to acoustic attenuation and signal flow, acting as a true skin that protects us and generates a better quality of life inside the home. FALSE MYTHS: There are several myths that are detrimental to this way of building and that only obey economic interests, but the truth is they are nothing more than that, false myths. Properly executed bioconstruction is earthquake resistant, and does not harbor insects like any type of housing. This will have to do with the hygiene and sanitation conditions of any building. Bioconstruction is actually the way to build naturally, using ancestral knowledge and incorporating advances in science, engineering and architecture, among others.
